It's La Canfora - but relevant...2 sixth rounders? http://nfl.si.com/2014/03/12/darrelle-revis-new-england-patriots/
If its LaCanfora, its automatically not relevant. Or factual.
Just keep him.
That's how dumb LaCanfora is. He reports that it'll only take a 5th round pick from NE to get Revis. NE doesn't have a 5th round pick.F-in moron. Hate that guy.
My question is this....I have read that his contract allows the team to turn any amount of his base pay into a pro rated signing bonus. Is this right? Seems like we could essentially make $4M of his base into bonus and eat it so that his yearly cap hit would be $12M to his new team. I think we'd have many more suitors if that were the case. Of course we'd be eating $4M a year of dead money for the next four years....but if we could get a couple of high picks, it might be worth it.

Unfackingreal...2 6th rounders for a player of Revis' stature...mindboggling...Freakin Blaine Gabbert fetched one 6th round...Blaine Freakin Gabbert...

Definitely an option to look into.

He'll probably get released straight up with us only getting our 3rd back.
Gabbert has a relatively inexpensive contract at the most important position in football and all the reason in the world to tear up that contract and accommodate the team however they want.Revis has a huge contract at a much less expensive position and no reason or desire to restructure his deal.
Just imagine... if we traded Revis to NE for 2 6th rounders...They'll have gotten Talib, Revis and Blount from us for a 7th and a total of 3 6th rounders. Now THAT'S rape.
Just keep him and have the leagues best 3 CB set up. Doesn't seem like that big a decision to me?

That is true, but it has nothing to do with his "stature." That is what many seem to miss. It ONLY has to do with the contract, which put Revis in 100% control. Dom signed the contract . . . nice parting gift

Jason LaConfora has dreadful sources
I'm ok with cutting the guy and getting our 3rd back and the cap space.I've come to terms with it.I hope for something more, but hey - LnL are cleaning up, the right way.
Ira on the Revis contract and deal:Ira Kaufman ?@IKaufmanTBO · 36m Bucs did well in FA yesterday, but in retrospect the trade for Revis is right up there with the 1986 Bo Jackson fiasco as a bonehead move
LnL. :)
