Patriots' Darelle Revis on Tim Wright: 'He's great' by Henry McKenna SI.com6 min ago . Meet Tim Wright, the newest member of the New England Patriots. After the Tampa Bay Buccaneers traded him in a package for Logan Mankins, everything should be brand new for the tight end. But he’s following the path of Darrelle Revis, who played with the Bucs last season and remembered Wright fondly. “He’s great,” Revis said of Wright, via ESPN.com. “He started for us down in Tampa, when I was there last year. And we are getting a solid player who can catch and who can run routes.” Revis likely practiced regularly against Wright during their shared tenure in Tampa. The “move” tight end draws from his wide receiver background and is developing into a strong pass-catcher. He needs to work his blocking if he wants a role in New England. The Patriots offense is complicated too, so he may need some time to get to speed. Luckily, he’s got that — speed, that is. “He was a wide receiver coming in, then they switched him to tight end,” Revis said. “He has a lot of speed at the tight end position. “He comes from Rutgers so he has that instilled in him — of being a hard worker. And he makes plays. He is a playmaker. Him teaming up with our system and what we do on offense, I think he will fit in well.” He’s a Rutgers guy? So too, seemingly, is everyone else on the Patriots. Former Scarlet Knight Duron Harmon had similar thoughts on Wright. “He is a good player,” Harmon said. “It shows last year when he got a little more comfortable in his position. He made some plays for Tampa Bay. So he is definitely a good player.”
