Lovie and his DC will adjust the D to fit the Revis ability. No way are they getting rid of him. We have plenty of cap room and you don't go cutting one of the best CBs in football.
I don't understand why we would get rid of revis for any reason. We don't need any more cap space, and he is still a great CB. Getting rid of him would be a huge hit to the CB position which doesn't have much depth past banks.
We're not in the great cap shape people assume we are. About $15M under but need make upgrades and the starting QB is only making 700k. People assume McCoy's deal is going to be less than what he makes now but with a $15.8M franchise tag number his side has all the leverage. There are ways to make Revis' contract very tradeable. With 4 and 5 eligible receivers paying one DB $16M doesn't make much sense and it was a dumb trade.
The Revis contract is an albatross it will eventually have to be addressed but I see know reason why Lovie wouldn't want him on his defense. Until the team needs the cap space they don't have to address it but at some point it will be redone or he will be released all of which is dependent on his health and level of play.
I'd assume Lovie will do what he feels is best for the team, not just Revis...
Hypothetical: What if we can only afford 1? Revis or a dominant DE? Which would be more valuable?
I'ma say it how Chip said it, Tampa 2 is a play, not an entire defense. Lovie knows what he's doing and he will get the best out of every player on the team. Revis Island is still open for tourists
We could be 24 million under the cap when free agency starts, a few guys on the O-line that are over paid might get the ax. I think Donald Penn should be traded if not released, his play has been awful and he's making too much money to play RT. Cutting Carl Nicks will save us 7 mill also

I think cutting Nicks would create $7M in dead money... not cap savings.

Pretty sure Nicks does very little for the cap next year, something like 7 instead of 9 if we cut him. Cutting Penn sounds nice but exactly how are you replacing him? We also have players coming up on contracts soon. And people seem to forget what cap hell does to a team here. You don't just spend to the cap every year and "figure it out later". You always want flexibility and the ability to make a big move when the right chance comes along without cutting talent to make it happen. The Revis trade was the dumbest move this franchise has made in a very long time. We may have had the "room" for it this year, but those resources could have -- and should have -- been used differently.

Clay is actually a very solid player. He may not be top 10 in the league but with his heart and always going a 100% i'd take him over a lot of guys that may be better then him.

This is true. Cutting Nicks saves a little over 2 mil in cap space (with just over 7 mil dead).
