Peppers had a bad season, and is pretty over-rated at this stage of his career. Not sure we'd want him, unless of course, he came very cheap.
Guys, we should listen to the armchair GMs and trade revis. He is old and slow. So if everyone here quotes PFF as the bible and revis was their top CB this year? Nah we should still trade him.
IBN jumping on the Bucs to release Revis? bandwagon now.

+1 Would rather have a younger, energized player.
youngryized?
you guys are delusional. we have as of now one good corner...his name is revis island and you want to get him out of here. your nucking futs!!
+1000Can you imagine "And the starting corners of the TB Bucs, Leonard Johnson and J Banks."Think about it this way, do you think Brees, Ryan and Scam want us to trade Revis?
You guys act like Lovie Smith has been under a rock for the last 20 years. He was 10-6 just a year ago and has spent the last year self scouting and cashing checks from the Bears. A bunch of you act like you know more about NFL defenses than Lovie Freakin Smith. Get real.
It would not shock anyone, nor should it, to see Revis traded. He is an asset, he did play well, his contract is large but avoidable. If the staff decided they don't need a $16m CB to play their defense then why should they keep him? Truthfully if they envision themselves as a zone team Revis can't pan out for them at that price. We sort of have a problem., Revis' value is in man to man but our safeties can't support that sort of defense because neither can go single high so basically all we run is a sort of man under 2 deep which, again, means having to support the $16m CB which isn't good value.
you guy do know tilman played man to man in lovie defense right? so why wouldn't revis be good in lovie's D?
Great idea! Trade Revis so we can snap up a franchise QB and sign Tillman to replace him. There is no better fit for Lovies defense than Tillman. Not even the $16 million dollar man.
I don't understand why we would get rid of revis for any reason. We don't need any more cap space, and he is still a great CB. Getting rid of him would be a huge hit to the CB position which doesn't have much depth past banks.
Too many good FA DB out there that can play Lovie's defensive System better and cheaper:Charles TillmanTarell BrownSam ShieldsBrent GrimesorTim JenningsYou better love coming up and busting someone in the mouth when you play corner for this guy...hell, you probably can sign two of these guys for little over half of what the Bucs are paying Reavis....Add the $$ you save and go after:Jared AllenMichael JohnsonorAnthony SpencerWe may be able to sign a MLB that can actually play both the run and drop back in coverage....
