he doesnt feed bull**CENSORED** to anyone.he speaks what he thinks and sometimes the NY media blows it out of proportion.did you forget about the back to back championship games? Best coach available this year hands down
This stunt would seem to be in conflict with your first statement.
Right now as it stands, rex would probably indeed be the most recently decorated coach a team could get their hands on, excluding gru or the jaw.Idk if he would be the best hire though, as there are a few hc's in college, and some darn good OC's that will be available.
I think we could do much worse. Personally, Ken Whisenhunt is at the top of my list...but I would be happy with Rex as long as they got a decent OC.
Ryan is a great defensive coach, but he's a terrible head coach. He has no idea how to run or develop an offense. He's never once invested any effort into building that offense and I have no faith that he'd do it here. Pass on Ryan. If he wants to come here and be a DC, I'm all for it. We don't need another offensive mental midget as our head coach.
of course you mean besides both 1st round draft picks he put into a qb because he was looking for his long term QB.
He only used 1. Secondly, addressing 1 position twice while neglecting the OLine, WR, RB, and TE positions isn't the recipe for success.

If you ask the folks around here that's exactly what you should do. Apparently a rookie QB should be able to put up Brady like numbers with a practice squad.

good point, i had forgotten gino smith was a second rounder. my point wasnt that he was successful at it. it was simply that he did invest into building the offense.now he might not have been good at it, but that wasnt the point you were making
Rex Ryan has done a lot with little talent. His Ds are pretty damn good too. Plus he knows how to use our billion dollar CB.

My point was that he didn't address his offensive short comings. Instead, he just tried to bolster his defense. Since 2009, he drafted 2 QB's, 1 RB, 1 WR, and 2 OL in the first 3 rounds. He basically forced himself to be perfect. Not to mention the fact that the only offensive weapons they brought in, in that 5 year span, was Braylon Edwards, Santonio Holmes and LaDanian Tomlinson. He spent most of his resources building the defense instead of the offense. What has it gotten him? Short / early success followed by 3 years of mediocrity to the point where they're too good to suck, but not good enough to win. They're in Bengals territory. Always thinking they're only a player away when they're 3 and a coach.
