Ray Rice | Running BackTeam:  Unsigned Free Agent Age / DOB:  (28) / 1/22/1987 Ht / Wt:  5'8' / 206 College:  Rutgers Unsigned Free Agent Rice_Zps3Nt7Qtou.jpgAccording to ESPN Ravens reporter Jamison Hensley, one unnamed NFL team "seriously considered" signing free agent Ray Rice earlier this offseason, before ownership stepped in to nix the deal. The owner of the undisclosed team had "concerns about public reaction to signing (Rice) given the taped incident" of domestic violence. Although that deal fell through, it's an indication that teams are indeed giving Rice consideration, even if they aren't being widely reported amongst the media. Currently training in Connecticut, Rice sounds willing to play for a minimum NFL salary. Schiano is a running joke in media and fan circles, but has a tight bond with coaches around the NFL, including Bill Belichick. Rice is still only 28 years old, and could add value to a backfield in a passing-down role, or even return as a lead runner in the right situation. We're going to guess he gets another shot at some point in camp. Jul 24 - 1:58 PMSource: Ed Werder on Twitter
