Rodgers was not a read option QB. Coming out of college he had a pro ready drop back, he stands tall in the pocket in the face of pressure with great poise and has great mobility. No question he was a great prospect.Look at Mariota. He is an ultra athletic read option QB. He does not look comfortable in the pocket. His footwork is terrible. He is skittish in the pocket and typically takes off running at the first sign of trouble. When comparing these players, it is clear that one has the attributes of a pro QB while the other is an athletic read option QB who looks more like a high school QB then a pro. This should end the comparisons. The only thing these two players have in common is that thay both played college football as a QB.
