I found this article of Ronald Jones running hills last week, on Greg Auman's twitter. I don't have a twitter account, right now, again. Anyways, I had started making a post last week, but I clicked something on the keyboard, and all the webpages disappeared! Well, here I'm going to try to post again. Once again, I don't have a twitter account, so, I'm posting here.

This article is behind a paywall; so, I didn't read it. Just showing it's there.

I've seen plenty of football players run hills before. Lots of them are inspired by Jerry Rice actually. Obviously, Ronald Jones has benefited greatly, and I can't help sharing my hill running experience.

Here's part one of my recording, running up Mount Woodson.

Running up Mount Woodson is kind of a goal for Poway cross-country runners. I never ran it till I got out of the Navy around 1999. It was kind of far from where I was living and I didn't have a car or drivers licence in high school(I didn't have a drivers licence till 30 actually!) But, one of our best cross-country runners during my high school times did. He was running in the high fifteen minute 5k(high school cross country distance) time as a freshman. He got kicked out of Poway High School and went to bad boy high school Abraxis . . due to grades. He was actually a great guy; but, anyways,

The battery of my GoPro ran out of energy right when I was starting to run down Mount Woodson. That sucks because running downhill is so much fun! I like to say that running uphill seems to take so long; but, running down Mount Woodson is so long that even when you're hauling ass downhill constantly, it just goes on, and on, and on. It's an amazing experience to run down hill for so long!

There's danger points of running down Mount Woodson at least. At the top is a lot of switchbacks; so, if you don't slow down for the turns . . and they come up on you so fast . . if you go over, you could be tumbling down for a ways!

For the most part, one can run continuously downhill; but, there is one part that is just too rocky to run downhill. One can run uphill through these rocky parts; but, going downhill is impossible. But, I came up with a skipping technique that allows me to at least not stop and walk down these rocky parts. So, for the most part I run all the way down.

I forgot to mention about the battery running out on this recording; I also suffered a little heat induced dizzyness. I recovered in like five or so minutes. It was the first time I had never ran the whole thing. If it wasn't for that heat induced dizzyness, I'm sure I would have ran all the way down, like I had done many times before.

I can probably get back in shape enough to run it again this coming spring, if not summer. So, if you want to run up Mount Woodson, any Bucs players really. Maybe reply!
