If we roll with Glennon as our starter we are throwing away 2014.

"I say we throw away our QB . . . . but dont have a replacement . . . I just like to throw him away"obvious question perhaps, but what is the REALISTIC alternative?

Sign Josh McCown and draft a QB. Unfortunately those meaningless wins will more than likely cost us a chance to draft a real QB this season.

who is "a QB"? you say its not a "real QB" but who is it?

I would trade up for Bortles or Bridgewater. I don't think that any of the top 3 will be available for us to draft and I don't think any guys that will be drafted past our 1st pick will be a 1st year upgrade over Glennon. But if you roll with Glennon as your starter you are saying to your fanbase that 2014 is a throwaway year. There are 4 groups of people that actively want the Bucs to roll with Glennon next year. Glennon fans, Saints fans, Falcons fans and Panthers fans.

So you want to give away the farm to move up in the first round like the Redskins did to get RG3? You want the Bucs to be the Redskins south?

So much for REALISTIC . . .Β  no offense but this comment -- "if you roll with Glennon as your starter you are saying to your fanbase that 2014 is a throwaway year" -- is the worst kind of message board drivel, it is the equivalent of pouting. Its basically saying "I dont like Glennon and so even though there is no REALISTIC alternative, I am going to post that we should throw him overboard to prove that . . .uh . . . err . . . .we want to win?" . . .lol, I hope you can see how silly that is.

We just signed Kafka, so I think if we add another QB, it's going to be a veteran guy.

No, but I also don't want to be saddled with watching that no talent goof Glennon play QB for the team I root for. However, since many here seem to think Glennon is already a lock for the hall of fame, he could be included in a trade and you won't have to give up multiple picks.

Can you stretch the truth anymore? Just because there are some in here that feel Glennon might end up being a good QB with this new coaching staff, it doesn't mean they think he's the second coming of Brady.

So signing a career backup QB and drafting from an average QB draft class is the answer. I don't see an Andrew Luck available with the 7th pick. I prefer to see what we have with Glennon and good coaching.

So that's one guy who I personally think is vastly over rated that went #1 overall, that doesn't mean much.Did you see a Tom Brady in the 6th round the year he was drafted or a Drew Brees in the 2nd when he was taken? There is no such thing as the perfect prospect and good QBs come from all over the draft board, just because guys like Bridgewater are getting all the hype now doesn't mean they will actually be the best QBs and that some "scrub" from a later round can't be a HoFer that everyone missed on.The issue we have is the perception is this isn't a good year to need a QB because the draft looks weak at the position (I'm not really sold on any of them) and the FA market is lead by a guy that sucked for the bulk of his career and then had a few good games playing for a "QB Whisperer."The big issue is that to me Glennon looked so bad that we have to at least try replacing him and hope we strike gold, the guy showed nothing that made me believe in him, he virtually disappeared completely for 90% or more of each game and then had a couple of decent drives that made is stats looks good.Don't give me this he had bad coaching and nobody around him stuff either, other QBs in that same situation may not have had great results overall and his pretty stat line but you saw something in them while in that situation where you thought there was something there, Glennon not so much.If you go back and watch it's clear that he left so much out there on the field because he has little awareness and plays scared (I know, I know "Dictator Schiano, blah, blah blah, excuse, excuse, blah blah"), despite the bad coaching and team mates so often there was good protection and a guy wide open only for him to hold the ball for the 18 seconds that his fans seem to think an NFL lineΒ  should be able to protect for and then either dump it off or take a sack. The guy is garbage, if we roll with him I pray he proves me wrong but I simply don't see it, the same way I didn;t see Freeman as a good QB while all his backers were making excuses for him suck as "(worthless) franchise records, only young & he'll improve with time, etc..
