Just got easier... http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/10487942/nfl-projected-raise-salary-cap-130-million
Sorry, but I think this news will push the announced unveiling of the new Bucs helmet off the show tonight...
You know with rollover, we could have close to 140 million available this year.

Maybe they can afford to cut someone!
That'll be a nice bonus, but what it really does is allow some cap strapped teams to re-sign players that would have gone to Free agency under the old 123M cap projection. I like the extra money, but now I'm afraid that there will be fewer good players available in a few weeks when we can stock up on needed players.
I say we sign Glennon to a 10 year contract for 10 million and lock him in on the cheap forever.
When you're in decent cap shape and teams in your division aren't, the salary cap going up is a bad thing.

Yeah, this helps teams like the Saints and Panthers (room not as big a problem as contract structure). Not a fan.
123 was always a lowball figure. it's been expected to raise to about 130 the entire time so I don't really think this will affect the plans teams already had.
This is bad news. This means the free agent market is going to shrink in quantity and quality. The few good free agents left will be overpaid due to the extra cap space (eg Raiders).
Good news all around. The free agency era will soon be coming to an end.
