And that was his own father, how does that fit into the agenda of those claiming he won't be a distraction of any kind if he joins a team?As a player and very likely as a person you would have to take a long look at the kid BUT all the surrounding stuff that he has no control over like media/teammates are enough of a concern that it's understandable that his stock has dropped. You don't just draft a kid based on how good they are, you also judge how they fit in and how much they help the team, could be a great player but if he destroys a locker room (again through no real fault of his own) is it worth it? A good team is 50+ players not one late round rookie.
Those overlooking the distraction angle should really just be ignored. They know damn well it's going to be a distraction, they just don't care. Remaining as PC as possible is their one and only goal, this is why their arguments are so flawed and all over the place, it's awfully difficult to take a bunch of bullshyt and mold it into anything other than more bullshyt.
Went from Dennys to Applebees for drinks... hahhaha I love it.

Yup. Not every player on the roster holds the same beliefs. It's just another type of argument players can get into besides religion or politics. My personal beliefs are kept out of business matters. So I could care less what the guy does or doesn't do in his free time. But when it could scatter the whole team, and cause the media to be too invasive, i'd have to say no.I'm still willing to bet a western team, or a contender will draft him.
Took his son to Mexico to lose his virginity?
Prayers going out to the Sam family for all they've had to endure this week.. :'(
Michael Sam Sr. was a failure of a father anyway. What he thinks shouldn't have any effect on Michael Sam's life. His father being "old fashioned" did so well for that family. He divorced his wife twice. Has two son's that are locked up in prison and three of his children are deceased. One being gang related and another being possibly gang related.Michael Sam is college educated and is about to make a good living for himself and his father is disappointed? He isn't a father. He's a moron.

Thank goodness Branch Rickey and the Brooklyn Dodgers felt differently

I'm guessing you think black people and white people shouldn't get married either? You're on the wrong side of history and you look like an idiot and will continue to look like one with that mindset. I'm genuinely embarrassed for you and your family. There was that one forward thinking leader that thought everyone should be the same, what was his name? I can't place it...oh yeah Hitler.
I'm glad the father said what he did. He could have been like some of the frauds on this site who only pretend to be in favor of this lifestyle, but he chose to be honest. Tolerance is a one way street when it comes to the homosexual lifestyle, if you're not in favor of it there are all kinds of words politicians and their mindless followers have for you. Nice to see his dad has a spine. It's a wonder some of you can even walk.
Yes, what a spine it takes to not support your son in one of the biggest moments of his life and express that lack of support to the media. Not to mention not even raising him to the point where he stays with friends.Big man he is. If he has a spine, it's made of cotton.

Exactly, look how it's become a major distraction in the military since they removed don't ask, don't tell. We have less than half the personnel we use to because most went AWOL, warships are floating unmanned throughout the oceans, our boarders are completely exposed, etc. ::)

And there's the Hitler reference. There's one of 'em in every crowd.

Escobar's truth is there is if you look for it

Had to. When it comes to intolerance, he is king.
