Our reign in the south is over. This team just sucks right now and who knows when our injured players will return. We suffer yet another injury to a starter and it happens every week. I thought BM was good, but boy was I wrong. He's terrible right now. I don't think he's 100%.
Once we get embarrassed on SNF next week there isn't a single game I can say with confidence that we win. We still have to play the Panthers twice and they have not even had their bye yet. We'll probably lose both games to them and give up our crown while we sit at home watching them in the playoffs.
Watching Buffalo shred the defense like that has happened too many times to count over the past several years. TB needs a defensive coordinator because he's not getting the job done. If a team needs a 1st down on 3rd and 16, no problem. If a team is third and 5, no problem, lets back up and give a 10 yard cushion. I'm never confident we'll get off the field no matter how much yardage a team needs. Sick of it.
The offense never puts a team away when we get ahead. They just sputter and leave it up to the defense and that rarely works in our favor. This team has no killer instinct whatsoever. Buffalo was ripe for the taking and we spoiled a great opportunity. Great job! lol
I wouldn't say that the season is over, but the excitement of the hot start is way far away in the rear view mirror. The season will end in a pool of mediocrity. The Rams will dominate and continue to expose the Bucs for what they are. 6-5. Then a 4-2 finish to end up 10-7. 5-1 start, 5-6 finish. Yep, that's about right. And then one and done playoff game at home to end it.
One other thing. If Bowles doesn't fire his ST coach this week, it's another gutless move for a HC without killer instinct.
"Season is over"
But Bucs are still on track with most predictions?
https://www.pewterreport.com/community/the-red-board/2025-season-record-prediction-thread/paged/2/
They played a really bad defensive game against the likely MVP . . at home . . desperately needing the win.
The last two seasons the Bucs had a poor defensive performance mid season loss, but they still turned it on at the end. This team is arguably better than the prior 2 seasons and the competition is not particularly tough after the Rams.
And hopefully we are getting healthier.
32 points of offense beats the average output of every remaining team we play, even the Rams (although I have that as a loss)
32 points is more than a TD over our typical defensive points allows
POINT: Bad loss, yes. End of world, no. If you judge almost any NFL the team by the huge ebb and flow of fan expectations you're setting yourself up for failure. We won two of those early wins with incredible good fortune clutch play. We were in the Bills game until the 4th quarter.
NFL is way to competitive to live/die on every game

yeah this right here.
We will likely win this division by 2-3 games.
Week 12
Bucs 6.5 point underdogs on the road in prime time. That's an L - Bucs fall to 6-5
Carolina is 7 point underdogs on the road in prime time. that's an L - Carolina falls to 6-6
Week 13
Bucs host Arizona at home, likely getting some horses back for this game - should be a W - Bucs 7-5
Carolina host the Rams at home, woudl imagine that's an L. Carolina falls to 6-7
Week 14
Bucs host the Saints at home. Should be a W. Bucs 8-5
Carolina on a bye week
week 15
Bucs host the Falcons on a Thursday night. Should be a W. Would suggest they are entirely capable of tripping over their dicks and losing this one. Let's say they lose for argurement worse case scenario sakes Bucs 8-6
Carolina at New Orleans. Totally capable of losing this game since they lost at home but we will give them the W - Carolina at 7-7
Week 16
Bucs at Carolina- ok we want to say they split for this exercise? Both teams at 8-7
Week 17
Bucs at Miami. Would not think we would trip on our dicks multiple games so if they lose Atlanta game, they are winning this one and vice versa, worst case. Bucs at 9-7
Seattle at Carolina. I mean, can't see Carolina winning this game so 8-8.
Week 18
I have no doubt Rico Dowdle being their only weapon, will run all over us, but still assuming a split, Bucs at 10-7 and Carolina at 8-9.
I actually think Bucs go 11-6 and Carolina 8-9....but just saying, due to the schedule, i don't see it being necessarily a concern.
NOW...if we lose to Arizona or the Saints following the rams game, then yeah, it's time to worry.
and while i will be happy to make playoffs, a one and done is a disappointment given the 5-1 start. No doubt we will have false hope with Evans coming back to give us a boost!
Fans have UNDERSTANDABLE big swings in emotion over a team they love, so not criticizing . . . but if the Bucs were to be 11-6 or 10-7 before the season - when we had Irving and Evans and JMac and Godwin coming back and Goedeke and Mauch and Wirfs and Reddick - isn't it a successful journey so far to be on track for 11-6 or 10-7 even though we have been without all of those players for many game?
In fact, some of them are back and/or coming back as we enter the weaker side of the schedule.
a one and done is a disappointment given the 5-1 start.
Yes, we had a 5-1 start but at least two of those games are won with last second Mayfield heroics and Egbuka surprising people. We have since lost Evans and Godwin
did not really come back. We lost Irving. etc etc. The Bucs are still on track.
In fact, if we get to 11-6 there didn't we have a 5-1 finish? Going into the playoffs
Season isn't over. We will win 10 or 11 games and get bumped in the first round unless we get our swag back on offense with all our weapons.
Bowles will pitch a few gems down the stretch. Grizz will too... They won't be consistent but it'll be enough to get a home playoff game then anything is possible if you get hot.
Do I think we are making a deep playoff run? Probably not... But the season isn't over
Carolina will win the NFCS if they win all of their remaining games.
That aint gonna happen.
Maybe the NFL will send the OP a diaper. What a complete bitch post

Assuming an 11-6 finish, yes, Bucs would have matched my expectations before the season and my prediction included relatively healthy team. So all things considered, you are correct to put things in perspective.
it's just at 5-1 with the same injury riddled team and beating winning teams in Seattle and San Fran, thought this team had the football gods on their side.
I expected 13-4 with losses to Detroit, Buffalo, and LAR (in addition to already Philadelphia loss). Now, with the 9-2 Patriots loss, and because the team is incapable of winning 5 games in a row, 11-6 is likely
the fans confidence has wavered because of the recent losing streak but we just need to get it together against these teams we are favored against. The concern is IF WE DONT...then what? should we assume this team just brings it all together like it did the last 2 years? We all want too because we are creatures of habit but wouldn't bank on that just yet until we see it start to develop.
I think that most fans are using sort of a beauty rating approach to the season whereas the owners probably think "playoffs good" no matter how we make it, at least at this point with a relatively new extensions and the pretty much unwavering support of the players and GM. All HC jobs are tenuous, but he's certainly getting the benefit of the doubt.
If we don't make the playoffs the support for the hc will dwindle from players and gm. Even then if we don't make changes not sure how the support is still there with them too. Owners can save money whatever but players and gm don't have to stay if they are free agents. Bowles is what he is at this point. Either glazers realize it or they don't want to because making the playoffs is enough. Damn the fans.

missing the playoffs this year after starting 5-1 would mean an 8-9 season or 3-8 finish. Yeah that wouldn’t be good
still likely Bowles is retained but it wouldn’t be pretty. As a Bowles bro, I’d be calling for his head
Managing the season is way more important than some goofy, out of conference practice game against the Bills.
It was always going to be tough for us to get the bye in the NFC, so now we are trying to manage the season so we are healthy come playoff time and can put our best foot forward for that run.
Getting healthy late in the season is way more important than wins and losses at this point. Go look at the Panther’s schedule.
Disgusting and disappointing is what this team is. They can’t beat a good team. The season is over if they don’t find a way to fix what’s broken, and it’s hard to believe that will happen.

hardly believe this team was Super Bowl or bust
i think most had this team at 10-12 wins before the season and as a healthy squad
so far, we have not had any "shit team" losses. So to me, the real test will be after the Rams and when we play easier teams. We should win all 6 if we play our B+ game.
question becomes do we get Bucky, Godwin, Reddick, and Evans back for playoffs and how is the team performing them.
If we go 11-6, 12-5 and win a playoff game, i'd say the season was a success
