While the seasonal moving of Ali Marpet around the inside of the line has been a bit frustrating the past few seasons, we have now seen him at all three inside OL spots. While I confess to not being an OL expert at all, nor am I a tape watcher, my general feeling from watching games is that Ali performed best at RG, and maybe even better at C (when he wasn't snapping poorly), than at LG this past season.
@Freddy brought up in another thread, the possibility of moving Ali back to the rightside. While initially I rolled my eyes, does the tape support this move? He was supposed to pair with DSmith76 on the left to really make that a force on our line, but we are here today debating whether to keep DSmith76 or not, so obviously having Marpet next to him didn't elevate his play to whatever level we were led to believe it would.
