If someone were to argue John Elway, that's fine, I think they're on equal footing. After that though, any other QB you mention will have been surrounded by Hall-of-Famers. Marino never was.
What HOFer did Rodgers or Brees win with?
Dolphins gave up 34.5 points per game in Marino's 10 playoff losses

The rest of the team doesn't matter. The QB is the only position in football.

That's not my quote lol.

sustain drives and chew clock and you keep the opposing offense off the field
Dolphins gave up 34.5 points per game in Marino's 10 playoff losses
sustain drives and chew clock (hire a running back and running back Coach) and you keep the opposing offense off the field
There it looks better...OBD
Can't believe you guys let stenchwarmer's Jim Kelly argument slide.
Marino was famous for not wanting a running game. I've heard tons of stories that say he would throw a hissy fit and change calls at the line if Shula tried to rely on runs. He was a helluva passer, but not a championship QB.
Can't say luck would be "better" than marino. And no one mentioned aikman. He's also another qb that is "better" than marino simply because he won it all.If I had to make a list of qb's who were better than marino..YoungAikmanMontanaBreesBradyManning(s)ElwayWarnerFavreGriese (bob)BradshawRodgersRoethlisburger...and even maybe jim kelly.
You're out of your damn mind
Why do you say that? I'm speaking about how he's viewed, and will continue to be viewed. A lot of people besides me believe the same.Look, dan was a great football player, but, because we can't say he won the big game, we cannot put him in the same lineup. Now, if you want to argue that he would've been better on a better team, ..alright, I'm listening. The guys I mentioned are NOT all better than marino (roethlisburger comes to mind), but because they won the big game, and he didn't, that is how people will remember him. That's reality. He carried that team for years, so it isn't very fair.
Jim Kelly was a baaaaad man. Loved that guy!!
Just another example of Sharpe having to pull his big foot out of his mouth. Surprised though that anyone could understand what he was saying in order to know it was an insult. Really don't know how he keeps that job.
To think one man is a better player based largely on the fact that he does or doesn't have a ring is dumb. QBs matter more than any other player today but they aren't the only thing that matters and certainly 20 years ago that same QBs role mattered less. More sweeping generalizations from this board, guess it's just to hard to look at people case by case. #WINNING
Agree. A guy could be stuck on a craptastic team, but still be a helluva QB.
Shannon Sharpe is a borderline moron. Who cares what that horseface says?

What did he say that was wrong?
