Tack that on to Barrett's recent four-year, $72 million contract with Tampa. Barrett wanted to be franchise tagged as a defensive end in 2020, not a linebacker, after recording 19.5 sacks in 2019 as a top edge rusher. Being tagged as a defensive end would have netted Barrett an extra $2 million. It seems he won the dispute and was compensated accordingly.
Does this effect this years salary cap at all?
