Everyone has a base D that they build off of. You can still run a Cover 2 with your safeties and man with your corners, or a variation of that. Cant wait to see all the Revis haters come out of the woodwork to tell us we should cut/trade him.

There are Revis haters here? I havent seen one. Im a huge fan of Revis, and I think he is the best CB in the league still. Yet I definitely understand accepting a good trade for him. no corner is worth 16mil and if you can get a first and more out of it that sounds cool to me. That makes me a Revis hater?

Not in my book. Im of the same mindset. He is currently a luxury that we can afford. If someone were to give us a good trade offer I am all for it. Cutting him or shipping him off for less than what we gave up would be a dumb move...yet seems to have a lot of support.Maybe not Revis haters, but haters of having Revis on our team at his current salary is who I was referring to.

Yea, its def a bad way of putting it. Personally Im not going to read much into the "coach speak" of Lovie. We know we have a winner with him. If it were an unproven guy I would care more about the things he says, but for now I just put my trust that Lovie and Leslie will have our D ballin.
Yeah, I get the "coach speak" aspect. "Coach speak" is the art of saying nothing though. These quotes are so specific in their detail, they left me confused. If the fans are confused, they don't buy tickets. If the fans don't buy tickets, the team gives them to the dancers at the Mons and 2000.If the dancers go to the game, they want to dance at halftime. Don't let the dancers.... wait a minute, am I nuts?
If we run a heavy dose of cover 2, or even run it at all, I wouldn't be worried about Revis. I'd be worried about Mark Barron and Dashon Goldson. Neither of those two excell covering in space. Barron is a unique player but having him in the deep half of the field is not what he is best at. Goldson is just garbage all the way around so I guess he'll stink it up regardless of what we do.
