Yes, this season has been a catastrophe. Yes, we were fed some stale cookies on the plan for this season prior to its start. The lost of the OC with his secretive offense, injuries to players and players just not fitting schemes have all played a part. I think the plan was evident from the very beginning. Signing McCowen, cutting Revis and bringing in players to fit the scheme was clear as day. There is a reason they did not bring in another OC to help Arrayo. There is a reason why you can see what the play is going to be on every down from your home television. Pop-Warner coaches can call better plays than what is being called on both sides of the ball. Lovie Smith was hired for a reason to right this ship for long term success. He has the temperament to weather the storm. We have seen before in the past winning these meaningless games at the tail end of the season only takes you out of position to draft the players you really want. Look folks, I know it is painful as hell watching a massacre every week, but to get our franchise QB and turn over this roster we all have to accept it and take a lost this entire season and look to next season for a full rebound. Think about it, it would be stupid to actually game plan the rest of the season and go from picking either 1st or 2nd overall to picking 4th or 5th and losing out on the player you truly desire. We can't just forfeit the season and pick 1st overall and Lovie just will continue talking in circles. He is not incompetent as many of you posters think.
