The Bucs need to get a younger HC. McCarthy is 62. Harbaugh about to possibly lose his job is 62. It's not the be-all-end-all, but Lincoln Riley is 42. A full two decades younger. In the case of the Bucs we need experience yes, but also a younger perspective. Bowles just isn't connecting and I think it's because he's set in his ways and I don't know that Harbaugh or McCarthy would be any different. My Carnac the Magnificent prediction:
Bowles is kicked up into the front office to work off the rest of his ridiculous contract.
Mike McCarthy is hired as the new Bucs HC, and he cleans house and brings in his own hand-picked staff.
Bucs players are thrilled because they get to play for a coach and staff who know what the fuck they are doing.
Related to Lincoln Riley. The Glazers will not hire a head coach for this organization with zero NFL coaching experience - one without even in a minor role for an NFL staff (like a QA Assistant). It just isn't happening. Lincoln Riley is a great coach and he gets maximum results from the QB position. All those things are true but he will not even be in consideration for this job. I am happy to eat the crow if I am wrong but I doubt the Glazers even consider him an outside option. Lincoln Riley is and will continue to be successful in college. That would be trainwreck of Schiano proportion if he were named the head coach here. There are more adaptable candidates in the NFL right now at the coaching level. I'm not even sure what the Glazers might be thinking as they typically don't disclose much before actually doing the deed.
Kevin Stefanski is an interesting name. History with Baker, 6 years at a pathetic browns organization making playoffs twice
How is Baker and Stefanski’s relationship?
Will be interesting to see if Atlanta makes a big push at Stefanski.
With Matt Ryan coming on board, I wonder if someone he has worked with in the past will be in scope. Not sure who that would be.
McDaniel???
