Bucs are at 17 or so million with no roll over and the cap is looking to go up 7-9 million. That's 24-26 million. Bucs have at the very least a few million in rollover that can and will likely be used. That's roughly 30 mil in cap space before a single cut, restructure, or trade. Please tell me again how revis needs to be cut to save $$$
They won't cut Revis they might convert his Base for 2014 into a bonus to spread it out over the rest of the contract. I forget what they said that saves but I thought it was like $10 in 2014. We could have $40 million or so in cap space WITH Revis still!Sadly the Buc's don't have a problem they have:"Problem? I haven't got a problem. I've got fucking problems. Plural." - Four Rooms/1995 (Ted the Bellhop)

Doing that would save money in 2014, but come back to bite us in the arse later. We need to be smarter than that. Its why the Steelers are in the position they are in now and the Raiders were over the last couple. The only reason (that makes sense for both him and us) to restructure is if we have a trade worked out for a butt load of picks and thats the only way to get it done.

I don't think it makes sense either since you typically do that to keep a good player and pick up a few more people for a SB run. We're no where near that but Lovie & Licht might do it anyways so they win more games to look good. No idea how they'll play it but that's food for thought.
Revis has the most team friendly 16 million dollar a year contract in probably all of sports. I wouldn't restructure that thing for nothing. We have the space and then some to leave it the way it is.He's happy with it and producing but IF we ever had to make room, that's 16 million doors in cap space with one swoop.

I think that potential might exist in 2015, but not this year. If we were 1-2 players away I could see them doing something like that but since we are many players away and realistically at least a year away, best to keep that bullet in the gun for when its needed.
We don't NEED to trade revis. It's just an option.Lovie may consider it. I doubt it, but the guy could go out and get just about any qb he wants by doing so. Either by outright trade, or using it as ammo.
Cut Mike Williams...Donald Penn, ..Daven Joseph...and that big turd LG we got from the Saints.......There's some money you jackholes......

I understand the feeling. You have some guys here who are definitely not earning their paycheck. We have enough money, right now, to do almost all we need anyway. There is no need to cut all these guys in one felt swoop.I trust lovie a THOUSAND times more than schiano and/or rah, so IF he thinks they should stay, i'll believe him.To me, a lot of people here have gone off the deep end of "cheap." Idc if they waste money, as long as they 1) win, and 2) provide talent to win.
This is really, really bad news.
