A lot of chefs in the kitchen.
you are such a homer ;)
How is he as a o line coach?
Very good. He is part of Parcells old band of brothers. He was a clown of a OC but he is good at his jobs aching the big boys.
Damn this staff is shaping up nicely ....
Agreed.
Lovie is ridin' the wave...
He's a great OL coach. Hope he can bring the Hulk with him.
Anomaly = Sandy Vag
I agree

This would be awesome. But I doubt OAK will let Veldheer get away.
Schiano brought in old Rutgers staff and Lovie brings in experienced former head coaches. Better already.
I really hope everyone realizes that this is going to be at least a 3 year shaping up of personnel. The OL on paper looks decent, but likely everyone needs to be replaced or relegated as depth. The DL is the same thing, we have a decent DL, but we need equal talent as depth. Our current allotment of Draft picks are simply not enough to overhaul this team as needed. Also cant expect to build a perennial winner/contender through free agency. Definitely going to take 3 hard years of changes and development to get this team to a happy place.

Not saying I am a fan of Schiano's or his staff...but I think that's a little unfair. Bill Sheridan, Jimmy Raye and Butch Davis all have pretty significant NFL ties. With that said...we did have several college coaches...but it looks like so will Lovie too. Lovie even said it's good to have a nice mix of young/old and college/pros but the key is good teachers. I think under Schiano, while we did have some NFL experience, I think we didn't have enough. That won't be the case with Lovie's staff and we have several coaches that at one point were so highly thought of, they were given the chance to be a head coach in the NFL.

I'm not defending Schiano either, but the Glazers did him NO favors in naming him Head Coach after weeks of pissing around making the decision. By the time he was named head coach all other teams had already picked over the assistant coaching talent pool and all that was left was scraps and college coaches.Looks like they finally learned in making the Lovie Smith addition so early into the offseason. This is a HUGE part of why Lovie is putting together this staff. He is established and is getting first picks.
hell, we'll have our entire staff completed before some of these head coachless teams find a HC.Pick of the litter. :)Sparano will push these guys - especially Penn
This staff is shaping up nicely indeed. You can't discount all of the experience that these guys are brining to the table. Still not sold on the QB coach, Arroyo, but other than that, I'm like these moves thus far.Regarding Anomaly, he moaned and cried all season about firing Schiano and Dominik. That was done and the Glazers brought in an experienced coach with copious amounts of respect. That guy, in turn, has assembled what appears to be one of the most experienced coaching staffs in the league.....yet he still bitches about it.
Does anyone know what kind of blocking scheme Sparano ran?
