there are rumors speculating maybe Schiano will take the Pats LB coach with the asst. HC tag.

The only problem with that is if Glennon beats out the first-rounder the Bucs have just drafted a very expensive backup quarterback, which won’t please the Glazers. The Glazers need to sell the team if that comment is true. If you don't yet have your franchise QB you need to keep looking. Drafting a QB in the first two rounds is excellent strategy.

If they draft a QB in the first round, he better be able to legitimately beat out Glennon in pre-season. That looks pretty bad when your first round pick is sitting on the bench when you have plenty of other holes to fill with prospects that would start and contribute immediately.

Whoever 'beats out' who in training camp is irrelevant. What matters is who plays well and win games. Glennon can play like Peyton Manning in practice but if he keeps falling apart in the second half and the team is losing, he's not going to keep his job over a 1st rounder on the bench. We've seen it for years around here. Young players hardly ever truly beat out established starters. Things just get to the point the vet player is playing so poorly it's almost impossible for another player to play worse.

Aaron Rodgers was drafted in the first round and sat for three years before starting. Just because a guy doesn't start right away doesn't mean he won't be good eventually. If we draft a Carr or Bortles, a guy with upside who needs to sit and learn, I'd be fine with that.

Well, considering how much Bellechik talks him up to other teams to hire, I think its time for him to put his money where his mouth is and hire Schiano for his staff

Yes but where was he picked? Wasn't it mid 20s?That wouldn't fly with the #7 pick. Also, look who he sat behind, the politics etc. - this just doesn't happen that often in the NFL.

Just because it doesn't happen often doesn't mean it can't.  Or even that it shouldn't.I would have no problem at this point with someone from the top 10 sitting a year. Given the rule changes, I think more of these guys will flourish, and the worst thing you can do to them is kill their confidence early by throwing them in when they aren't ready yet.  Especially when you really focus on not committing turnovers.  That makes them develop a habit of hesitancy.

Rather sign a vet and draft a QB 2-4. There will be a nice pick at #7 and would rather have an OT or Donald. Donald also gives them leverage/ injury protection on McCoy.

The whole team fell apart in the 2nd half of games. Im not blame that all on Glennon. That's Schiano's fault because he didnt know how to make half-time adjustments.
