Senior Bowl hype.
Just because it doesn't happen often doesn't mean it can't. Or even that it shouldn't.I would have no problem at this point with someone from the top 10 sitting a year. Given the rule changes, I think more of these guys will flourish, and the worst thing you can do to them is kill their confidence early by throwing them in when they aren't ready yet. Especially when you really focus on not committing turnovers. That makes them develop a habit of hesitancy.
Rather sign a vet and draft a QB 2-4. There will be a nice pick at #7 and would rather have an OT or Donald. Donald also gives them leverage/ injury protection on McCoy.
A vet isn't going to solve the problem that we have no franchise QB. THAT is the most important thing to get right. Taking an OT is a long term solution but what if he can't beat out Penn? And how exactly is Donald a great idea. He is going to be a reserve DT but you can't justify a reserve potential franchise QB? That is nuts. And Gholston can play at UT in this league if McCoy goes down we already have a replacement. Not seeing the logic. Donald may be the Red Board flavor of the week but that is a real big stretch if you ask me.
Donald? No thanks.
Senior Bowl hype.
Hype? Have you ever watched the guy play? He is in the backfield against every team he plays almost every play!! Dude is a beast no matter if the Bucs take him or not the guy is going to be very good
Aaron Rodgers was drafted in the first round and sat for three years before starting. Just because a guy doesn't start right away doesn't mean he won't be good eventually. If we draft a Carr or Bortles, a guy with upside who needs to sit and learn, I'd be fine with that.
Yes but where was he picked? Wasn't it mid 20s?That wouldn't fly with the #7 pick. Also, look who he sat behind, the politics etc. - this just doesn't happen that often in the NFL.
What about Carson Palmer then?He went #1 overall and sat a year behind Kitna.Higher pick possible sitting while an average at best journeyman QB started. What about Rivers in San Diego going so high and sitting behind Bree's who wasn't exactly the Bree's we see today. It's far from unheard of.

At 7? No thanks. We have McCoy.No thanks. Good player. But unless the Bucs move in the draft, I cannot see it happening. At around pick 13+, it would be palatable. Bucs need a true MLBer like CJ Mose, or a QB like Manziel. Maybe even Mathews.
And senior bowl hype doesn't pigeon hole anyone. It can regard players like Carr as well...

Boid Sphincter...how you been bro?OK, what if Donald was BPA when the Bucs picked? Look at Seattle, Giants etc. who stock up on the d-line. OT or DT, I'm tellin ya man...... ;D

It happens but no too often. I know one thing, I wish they'd have traded Free and landed Palmer last off season.

I don't think he's hype either. There's plenty of that going 'round but not this guy.

Taking an OT is a long term solution but what if he can't beat out Penn?
Trade Penn or kick him over to G, Nicks may or may not play again. "Cut & Restructure Candidates" -Offensive Linemen:Carl Nicks ($7 million)Davin Joseph ($6 million)
And how exactly is Donald a great idea. He is going to be a reserve DT but you can't justify a reserve potential franchise QB?
A solid 3 DT rotation pays big dividends over the course of the season. He'd give the Bucs lots more options on that line. There's really not a QB I would take who might be there at #7.
That is nuts. And Gholston can play at UT in this league if McCoy goes down we already have a replacement.
Do you really think Gholston can replace McCoy? C'mon man!
Not seeing the logic. Donald may be the Red Board flavor of the week but that is a real big stretch if you ask me.
I think he's the real deal and if he's BPA, take him. There's really not anyone better to reach for save possibly an OT.

Been good MaintenanceMan..Why the need for DT? Bucs need a pass rusher from the end spot, and they have McCoy at the spot Donald would occupy. Seems a bit much to have a rotational DT in there at pick 7. And when McCoy comes calling for his money, they may decide that Donald is his replacement...that would suck.

Oh nos, I jess got them Booger McFarland memories comin back at me. Ouch! McCoy has to stay.I know what you guys are saying but it's hard to pass up a player like Donald. Last draft I was wanting Richardson or Star if they kept that pick. Need to shore up that d-line, keep them fresh so they can attack -relentlessly! This team does need their next Simeon Rice, that's for sure, but I'm not sold on Barr or Mack for this line, just not. There's a few DE FAs like Allen etc. Also, Will Smith or Peppers are short term possibilities... keep your eyes on what happens with them. I say the Bucs need to go hard after Garappolo to potentially take the reins, in the event Glennon flounders. A second round backup is palatable. And his talent might be a massive surprise!I wanted Wilson. I think Garappolo might surprise. Guys who love the game and have proven they can play...just a winning combo IMO. Mosely in round 1. Garappolo in round 2. Resign MB, or nab THE KRAKEN, get Everson or someone with some skill...Bucs might be set for starters. Depth is a major issue. Guys are going to miss time. Their replacements have to be up to snuff, NFL ready cats. Go Bucs!
I don't know a whole lot about Donald- do you guys think he would be quick enough to play end?
