Dominik made some mistakes but left this team in a great position for the new regime. I am sure he will learn from his mistakes, land on his feet and do well in his next endeavor
Oh, now we are talking nice about him since we know he reads the boards? =P Two words: Michael Clayton
Dom absolutely has talent. I'm just not sure that GM is the right role for him. With all this talk about Hardy I wonder what the chances are of him popping up on the coaching staff.
I think Dom would do very well in the Chiefs personnel role.
But until then... Scores on Dale Mabry
Dominik's legacy is pumping high draft picks into injured players and getting hustled by losers like Antonio Bryant, Derrick Ward, Michael Clayton, Kellen Winslow and Eric Wright for $51M. Considering the cap situation he took over and the amount of games we won in his 5 years we should be $300M under the cap right now.
Maybe we can find an offensive guard with scoliosis???
Very good article SR, really interesting stuff in there. I too feel sorry for Mark Dominik and fully expect him to be a GM in this league again. I also found it interesting that Derek Carr might be a better fit for Tedford's offense than Manziel or Hundley. If thats the case, I'll stick with Glennon.
With all the injuries... younger got old.
Like many on here, I always felt like Dominik was a good guy. But if he truly read these boards, at least a few of us were here to tell him signing Clayton, Joseph, Trueblood, and Black were bad moves, even if PR said they were great moves.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S-iL9Nk31pU I like the kid. Got some fire in his belly, surprisingly mobile, and puts some nice touch on his throws. Reminds me of young Phillip Rivers.
SR is fair in his analysis with of Dom....my big problem was the fact that he was learning on the job and I couldn't bear to watch the product on the field any longer while the GM learns his role. He made mistakes and he made some great moves (contract structure) but the NFL is a results-driven league....nuff said.Regarding Tedford's possible interest in Derek Carr....that's something I'd posted the other night....I thought it made sense and apparently I'm not the only one.
This is why you should have the GM in charge of the roster. The head coach should only be able to make his recommendations but the GM should be having the final say. If it were up to Dominik we would have never signed Black or Clayton. His drafting left plenty to be desired but trying to acquire talent for coaches who may only last a few years is ludicrous.

That's terrible, but hilarious. hahaOn a side note, D Bowers is the biggest reason that I want Rod here. If anyone can get Bowers in gear it's Rod.
Carr did struggle against USC but I have been watching him the whole year, not focusing on who he was playing I focused on him, he has a very quick release, can move a little and has a pretty good arm, not sure I would go him at 7 but if the new regime likes him I could see them trying to get him, it really all depends what Tedford and Lovie think after they go over Glennon's tape. I am just excited to have new blood in this organization and can't wait till the off-season gets started
