http://www.rotoworld.com/articles/cfb/46337/349/peshek-sack-study-10 Measured here is the time from snap to sack for each pass rushers. Generally, times greater than 5 seconds are coverage sacks. Times between 3.5 and 5 seconds are the majority of sacks and what you would call “average sacks”. Sacks faster than 3.5 seconds are speed sacks which result from a good jump off the line or just great burst.Check out the link for more
Mack, Barr, and Clowney can really go and get it.
who is Martin? is that Kareem?
Mack, Barr, and Clowney can really go and get it.
Mack, Barr and Clowney are jabronis. ;D
The problem with the Clowney stats is that for this year off 3 sacks there is not much to learn. That stat says he managed 2 speed sacks all year despite all that freak athletic ability. The ratios are nice but the sample sizes are insanely small. Getting their career figures might have more value.
I like that someone is trying to evaluate players' qualities of sacks but would really like to see this taken one step farther and the blocking looked at. Does the player get a sack because he kicked an offensive lineman's a$$ or did he get it because he blitzed and didn't get picked up, was there an error in the blocking assignment and no one picked him up, or was he left one-on-one with a running back or tight end? Those things matter. You want to draft pass rushers that can make offensive linemen uncomfortable and not ones who picked up scraps from errors and bad coaching.

Very nice.

Back in 1994, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers still dawned an orange uniform. It was around this time, that the team decided to draft a quarterback named Trent Dilfer, who came from Fresno State University. Trent, dawned the #12 as the Buccaneers starting quarterback for several years following and he would throw howitzer interceptions, just rifling about a mile high over his receivers head. He threw a bunch of interceptions in fact, a mile high over receivers heads in Denver, that the stadium in Denver earned the nickname Mile High. Is it any coincidence that mile high stadium resides in a state where getting high from Mary Jane is now legal? Does Mary Jane sound familar? Of course it does, it's the name of basically a bunch of people's favorite pass time activity and probably our former starting quarterback's nickname. Don't be shocked if Josh Freeman's nickname when he dressed in drag was Mary, but moreso his uncanny resemblance of his overthrows to former Buccaneer Trent Dilfer. About the time the Buccaneers elected to draft Freeman, Dorrough comes out with a song about Ice Cream paint jobs. This song wasn't very good. What most people don't realize, was it was actually entitled, Ice Kareem Paint Job. Was Kareem also Martin? Absolutely not, you can bet your money on that. There were in fact no Aston Martins in the music video. So who is Martin? I've researched this as extensively as I could and the best I could come to find out is that he is a famous goaltender for the New Jersey Devils. I'm not sure if he still plays though, his rookie season was likely played with raptors running about.

Agreed and he discusses that in the article and explains why he included Clowney's 2012 season, but ya it would've been nice to see how their entire college careers stacked up. But, I suppose beggars can't be choosers
