I haven't seen this posted as it's own thread so, on the off chance ownership has anyone reading the boards like Dom did, I want to extend my gratitude.  In the modern era NFL, it is quite rare to see owners take such drastic measures to make their fans happy.  After much criticism over the past several years, the Glazer family has made a solid commitment to this team and we fans both see and appreciate that.  From aggressive moves in free agency to putting in their personal money for renovation of the big screens and pushing to deliver a high quality, cutting edge venue, our owners have truly shown where they stand.  Mistakes were made along the road.  This is true for all anyone in business and ownership is not exempt from such decisions.  However, it takes sincerity and courage to accept those mistakes and learn from them rather than making excuses.  We have sadly watched this team fail to thrive over the past 4 years, but hope is back and it is electrifying.  The coaching staff this team is putting together, starting with HC Lovie Smith, is something special and the talent on the field is as good, if not better, than any team in franchise history, with high picks coming in the draft.  The future of the Buccaneers looks bright, but no matter what the end result may be, the Glazer family has shown humility and dedication in their efforts.  We thank you for that and, as a result, team support will grow once again to the proud, loud, fiery group who welcomed home our 2002 champions.  Go Bucs!

I applaud the Glazers, if and only if, they made these moves because they honestly thought it was the best move for the franchise. Most hated Schiano, but as evidenced by the attitude towards him after the 4 consecutive win, they hate losing more. Winning cures all and if Schiano had finished the season with 8 wins in a row people would be loving him. My point is not one single move should ever be made to keep a fan happy in regards to players or personnel. Want to keep fans happy? Build the best team possible and if you want to play more nice than than, then do what they're doing right now and upgrade the stadium or hire better looking cheerleaders, just kidding ours are very nice!My point is that winning is what matters. If they thought Schiano was the guy long term and fired him because the fans chose him as the scapegoat, shame on the Glazers. If they saw the chance to land Lovie Smith and said we can't let the chance go by and will do whatever it takes to get him, then cheers to the Glazers. I was one of Schiano's few fans when he arrived and one of the last to throw the towel in on him but I believe we're headed in the right direction again. Adaptations and continuous growth is what wins in the NFL because everything eventually gets figured out. I don't believe Schiano had that ability.I bought tickets, paid for a flight and hotel for 4 nights to see a bucs game this year. We got pounded, I've never had so much fun. I'll do it again ASAP. I'll support any player/coach who can win. So, let's just win and all else will take care of itself.

This idea that "aggressive free agent moves" are the answer has to stop. Throw in aggressive trades too. If anything the owners need to be called out for letting Dominik have free reign for 5 years. When he offered Haynesworth $100M+ after a month on the job that didn't raise eyebrows? We were the new Redskins/Raiders for far too long , nothing to thank them about.

The Glazers have gone the cheap route quite a few times on us fans. But, they have adjusted accordingly, and in recent years are trying to do whatever is possible to satisfy fans. This was never the case when Culverhouse was in charge.

I do think fan buy-in is important to the Glazers.  Frankly, I thought they would stick with OCD Greg another year.  While I was not overwhelmed with the Lovie hire, it instantly restored credibility back to the organization.  The staff he is putting together should garner respect from the players.  Instead of a position coach that worked at Rutgers, we are filling a lot of these roles with other former NFL HC, pro bowl players, and hopefully an OC that will keep the defense off balance.

Btw-  only reason I was not overwhelmed is that I was hoping for a offensive minded HC, but I do like Lovie as our HC.
