The 2025 Bucs: A Season of Stalled Potential

I watched the Buccaneers play with real continuity and vigor early this year, but after hitting 7 wins, we hit a wall. To be honest, I found myself deeply disappointed in the coaching and the schemes as the season collapsed. The offense lacked creativity, was plagued by injuries, and made far too many mistakes. I was originally a Grizzard fan, but seeing what Liam Coen has done with the Jaguars (turning them into contenders) and what Dave Canales has achieved in Carolina (making them competitive with less talent) makes you wonder: What was the Front Office thinking letting those two walk?

Meanwhile, our defense is "flamboyant" in the secondary—and not in a good way. We get burned constantly, especially in those soft zones that opponents clearly figured out weeks ago. I won’t name names, but we all know who in the secondary didn't perform. It reminds me of the Sam Wyche era—the famous "5-2" start that ended in a collapse because he lost the locker room. I fear we are seeing history repeat itself. We need a new coaching staff on both sides of the ball. I place the blame squarely on Ownership for not sealing the deal with our previous offensive minds. Now, we are stuck in a conundrum of mediocrity, wondering what could have been.
