@bucsbits He better be blitzing. Bowles is still like top 5 in the NFL in blitz rate.
Today’s weather may play into blitzing earlier, but that type of pace is hard to keep up over the course of an entire game.
Lulling the opponent into a false sense of security, then hitting them with a blitz from an unexpected point, at an unexpected time, it can be effective.
It’s also hard to blitz a team who’s main offensive strategy is to hit CMC at about 7 yds out from the LOS, especially when your two coverage LB’s aren’t especially effective in coverage.
I’ve come to expect that if we are able to get an early lead, we tend to blitz more often.

I want to see Winfield shadow CMC

Wouldn't be the worst idea.
Is it just me or are the 49ers the hardest team to figure out what to expect from them from week to week this season. You never know whos gonna play at QB or WR, they are like musical chairs this year.

Shanahan is the best in the business

For sure. He is the offense. It obviously helps to have players like CMC, but he's capable of scheming something with nothing.
Some props I like for tomorrow.
Like all year last year, Todd hasn't disappointed with some EASY wins so far this season.
I like:
- Mac Jones over 1.5 TD passes (+115) - 1.0u
- Can get him at 2+ for (+450)
- Mac Jones over 275+ yards passing (+165) - 1.0u
- Tempted to take him at 300+ yards passing (+325)
- Jake Tonges ATD + Over 3.5 receptions + Over 34.5 yards receiving
- I took this 3-legger last week for 1.5 units and hit big on it (though I may drop the yardage total for this one) - 0.5u
- CMC over 53.5 receiving yards (-115) - 1.5u
- This looks like a steal.
- Has hit the over on this number 4 of 5 games this season
Taking a longer look at the Bucs lineup.
I like all this but for whatever reason I think we see a rare Bowles gem with Mac not 100% and not mobile.
I like White anytime score. Like Sheppard over 2.5 receptions
@firebowles2023
Highlighted my bets from the prior post.
Here's my others:
- Shep over 2.5 receptions (-105) - 1.5u
- Baker over 25.0 rushing yards (+160) - 2.0u (got greedy here)
- White ATD (-150) - 2.0u
- Tez ATD (+260) - 1.0u
Then, for fun, running 2 parlays:
- Over 274.5 Baker
- Over 274.5 Jones
- Over 1.5 Passing TD's Baker
- Over 1.5 Passing TD's Jones
- CMac over 1.5 TD's
- Tez ATD
- Baker over 17.5 rushing yards
- +6000 at 0.5u
- CMAC ATD
- Tonges ATD
- Jones over 1.5 TD's
- Baker over 1.5 TD's
- Tonges over 3.5 receptions
- CMAC over 6.5 receptions
- +1300 at 0.5u
Happy Hunting and Go Bucs!
mac jones is strictly a dink and dunk passer.
Not sure "strictly" is an accurate description. He's got a 7.0 YPA, which is better than Mahomes, Herbert, Daniels, Hurts, and tied with Dak at 19th out of 37 QB's.
For reference, Mayfield has a 7.5 YPA - which is 12th out of 37 QB's.
have you watched him play? He has a very average arm. he isn't going to throw over the top 40 yards downfield, ever. Stop looking at Y/A and watch the film. Mac Jones is a known quantity, which is to say he is an underneath passer, in the same mold as Purdy, Tua, etc.
Not halfway through the first quarter and Jones has a 40+ yard pass completion.
lol @ “have you watched him play” and “watch the film” quips.

First half for Mac Jones: 13/19, 200 yards, with 10.5 YPA.
TEZ ATD HITS!!!!!!!!!!!!
@biggs3535 Should be but the Rams got torched by Bourne and Mccaffery in the passing game. I don't think we can do much better given our injuries in the secondary and the awful Lber play we've been getting.
Absolutely. The Rams turned the ball over twice and didn’t get any on defense, and the game still went down to the last second in overtime - with McVay shitting the bed on 4th down. If the Bucs can win the turnover battle, they should be good.
+2 turnover margin = two-score win

Good call.
Bucs defense can cover up their mistakes if they continue to force turnovers.

Yup. They are allowed to get turnovers. And those turnovers have contributed to the last two victories.
