I don't watch a ton of college ball so I don't know if this is a common occurrence, but I don't think I saw one pass play in that video that he wasn't dead locked on to a receiver the entire time.It seems to be more of him just making an accurate throw and having a better receiver than the DB's covering. No progressions or anything.I know it's just a highlight vid but hey, QB gotta be able to check his progressions.
Ughhh, I dont know. Maybe if his last name was'nt Carr I'd be more enthusiastic about drafting him.
It's funny some that bash him on here say things that are not true, he isn't more athletic or more mobile than Glennon? When he ran a faster 40 time than Manziel, and a pole taking at the combine 17 more coaches favor him over Manziel, now we have our opinions but it says something when 17 more coaches like Carr over Manziel, I think the kid can be special the hate for him is just a joke if you ask me, he's proven before he can play in an NFL offense before his new coach came into town, i'm all for Carr if we can get him.
Never trust poles
Lots of balls fitted into tight windows, and a good amount of touch passes over defenders' heads. My main worry with him is the hitch in his throwing motion. It's small and it's not always there, but it is worrisome.
Ill just add he has an inconsistent drop back and set up and throws off his back foot all the time. Of course these things can be corrected but you dont draft a project QB with the no.7 overall pick. 2nd round........if you must. I would not. I can get a project QB in the 5th to 7th round. If he had Andrew Lucks drop back and footwork he would be the no.1 ovetall pick.
Of the four top QB's only Bridgewater has good footwork and consistent mechanics. The Bucs shouldn't pass on the top four QB's in my opinion..I know the arguments for Watkins and Donald but to me they are not significant enough to make a difference when the offense finished 32nd last year.
Its a crap shoot this year at QB. Idont see Carr or Manziel as NFL starters. Bridgewater to me is the complete package Bortles is intriguing and his intangibles are through the roof. He doesnt do everything great like Bridgewater but he has great size pocket awareness scrambling ability and clutch leadership to watrant a very early pick. I guess I see it as more 1-2 than 1-4 when it comes to the QBs.

Agree 100 percent. You could talk me into Evans or Ebron though. Especially if we get Josh McCown in here.
I think trading back might be pretty easy for the bucs if Sammy Watkins is still on the board at 7. There are a few teams in the mid - late teens that are wr hungry.
Carr is a garbage can. Close this thread.

I saw something too. Like a sideways motion to his arm when he is pressured? ..anyways, I've seen him do that a couple of times.I like the "idea" of them getting who they want. If tedford says he's the guy, screw it, I will respect that.Imo, he's the fourth best qb, maybe fifth though.
Carr has gone from top 5 pick and #2 QB before his bowl game to 5th round pick and 10th best QB according to Todd McShay after the combine to possible top 15 pick again. If Bucs go QB in the 1st it will definitely be Carr. It's better to go with the devil you know then the devil you don't. Carr and Teddy (Tedford) are practically family according to his combine interview.
If Carr can get his footwork under control, he could be a really good qb. I still can't get over his release. Quick as could be.
Carr's stock will go up the most before the draft with pro days and personal workouts remaining. Everyone knows he has the best arm and these events will only elevate his stock because he is the best QB in shorts throwing against air and NFL personnel are in love with arm talent.
Every team in the league knows the connection Derek Carr has with the Bucs and Jeff Tedford..
what exactly is the connection?

at least these posts are encouraging.
