This is has to be the most amazing piece of the Schiano strategy. (And yes it is a strategy) Against the Jets, we were down 15-14 with a little over 2 minutes left, John Lynch made the following comment: "If Josh Freeman is a franchise QB, he'll lead this drive for a field goal and the win." If you recall we got the field goal. The Jets had 38 seconds on the clock and we lost. Not on Freeman. Against the Saints, Freeman led a late game drive and on 3rd and 6, Schiano calls an off tackle power that went for zero. We miss a 47 year field goal. We were still up 15-14 with a minute to go. Then we lost to the Patriots on the road. The fact that so many believe the Freeman was THE reason we started 0-3, shows how well Schiano sold the idea. I don't know the details of what happened with Freeman, but no way did he quit on his teammates. And no way, he was the reason we started 0-3.
Except that Freeman's craptastic play for the first 59 minutes is the reason we were down. I don't acre what he did at the end of the game, he sucked for the rest of the game. If he'd played well there would be no need for the heroic drive and the Jets would have been put away long before the David play. FReeman, sucked. Period it takes a willful level of stupid to think otherwise.
Meh, I don't think (or at least I hope) that noone's trying to say that Freeman played well those first three games. It's just that he was hardly the only issue the team had. As I said at the time, early this season, I don't think the team looked like a good, well-coached team with QB issues. They looked like a lousy, horribly-coached team with QB issues. That's not an effort to excuse Freeman. At all.
This.Freeman's stats are what they are, but when you say he quit. Come on man! The way it has been construed you would think everything else was working perfectly in the first 3 weeks. I have not been shy, I was the chief Freeman apologist. But I don't say he is without fault. I think he is part of what became a huge cluster "engagement" and was one of many symptoms. The real issue is Schiano is in over his head. He is also very adapt at deflecting responsibility. You know, like being a few pieces short on defense. (No, we have a very talented defense that does not play to it's strengths. Morris did more with less.) Our offense has been decimated by injury. (True, but our most effective scheme (no huddle) is deemed "not us" by the head coach.) This team's results are more a symptom of the head coach's flaws than a lack of talent.
When life gives you lemons you need to make lemonade.
And when life gives you Glennon you make Glennonade !

I know you don't get it, but if John Lynch says Freeman leading a drive for a field goal, is doing what a franchise QB should do, I am going with John. And if you want to call it stupid. DId you happen to see Tom Brady against the Jets defense in week two? He looked craptastic, too. And that's not saying Freeman is a s good as Brady. But in this league a win is a win and Freeman had our team in a position to get two more than we have. The defense would never have been in a position to need a stop if not for conservative play calling in the end. I think you have been infected by Schianoitis. That's a condition that when something goes wrong, Josh Freeman is the main reason. It's curable. All you have to do is pull your head out into the sunlight and you'll see more clearly! It might sting a little at first, but you'll adjust. Trust me, I am a professional!
Wash, rinse, repeat.
Theoldliarbuc: "That's a condition that when something goes wrong, Josh Freeman is the main reason. It's curable. All you have to do is pull your head out into the sunlight and you'll see more clearly!"This from a guy who made up stats to support Freeman. He was shown that he was wrong, then a couple of weeks later he tried to use those same made up stats again, even though he knew it was a lie.
No more excuses. Every team in the league has injuries. Freeman only played in three games. The Bucs are 4-7 with Glennon so blaming this on Freeman is a pathetic way to get out of responsibility for the other 13 games of the season. Dominik is 28-50. Schiano is 11-19. They need to fire both of these clowns. If we keep Dominik, Schiano and Glennon that guarantees the worst GM, head coach and starting quarterback in the division, so the Bucs will be losing again next year.

Never checked out All 22, did you? Don't worry, bliss will sustain you!
"Never checked out All 22, did you?"Seriously? The lie you told was that the Bucs led the league in drops. You were trying to shift the blame for Freeman's poor play onto the receivers. The stats showed that wasn't even close to true, it was just some crap you made up. And now you're trying to use the all22 as your defense? In order to determine the Bucs led the league in drops, you would have had to analyze the all22 from every single game. The hole is just getting deeper, liarbuc. Stop digging.

Totally, sustained!
While in Tampa Freeman had the 2nd highest drop rate in the league, behind only Jeff Tuel
Theoldliar claimed josh had over 20 drops in IIRC, the first two games. Everyone else on the planet counted 6 or 7.

Unacceptable to my ears. all of it.
