The Glazers Made the Right Choice By JCDeLaTorre?@jcdelatorre Dec 30 2013, 12:32pmKim Klement-USA TODAY SportsAfter a disastrous run, the Bucs Brass made the correct choice. Its what we were hoping for. The Glazers have shown their fans they still do care about their fanbase. We need to remember this decision effects a lot of lives. Families will be uprooted, assistants looking for work. Many lives have just changed. Try to remember that these type of decisions are never easy. Mark Dominik has been with the organization for 20 years. Schiano left a cake job with Rutgers to try and bring a winner to Tampa Bay. The bottom line is it didn't work. There was simply too much against this regime. Greg Schiano didn't make the Buccaneers have MRSA. He didn't stock a team with little depth. But he and his huge coaching staff failed at in game adjustments, his offense was stuck in stone age and his defense wasn't as good as it should have been. Dominik's record spoke for itself. You can't go 5 years without a playoff appearance and expect to keep your job as general manager. When your team wins only four games in year five of your rebuilding project - you can't keep your job. Add to that the fanbase was near unanimous in wanting the head coach gone. It was about 50-50 in regards to the GM, who admittedly had decent drafts in the past couple seasons. It had to be done - there wasn't really a choice. There was no way the Glazer family could sell Schiano to the fanbase. It was a difficult sell to give Mark Dominik another coach to work with. It was time. They made the right choice. Now they have to follow it up by making the right choice on a new dynamic duo. "The results over the past two years have not lived up to our standards and we believe the time has come to find a new direction." said Buccaneers Co-Chairman Bryan Glazer, "Mark has been a valued member of our organization for two decades and we respect the passion he showed for the Buccaneers during his time here. We thank Greg for his hard work and effort the past two seasons, but we feel these moves are necessary in order to achieve our goals." Amen. Na,na.na, hey, hey, hey Good-bye, Mark and Greg. http://www.bucsnation.com/2013/12/30/5257336/the-glazers-made-the-right-choice
Its the next choice that is crucial.
