Mark Barron a breakout candidate for the BucsBy Jeff Adcox - Feb 27th, 2014 at 6:26 pmNov 17, 2013; Tampa, FL Tampa Bay Buccaneers strong safety Mark Barron (23) against the Atlanta Falcons during the second half at Raymond James Stadium. Tampa Bay Buccaneers defeated the Atlanta Falcons 41-28. Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports It happens every year. Players on current NFL rosters emerge from the shadows and have the year that every fan can stand up and cheer about. In the team’s weekly mailbag, Tampa Bay Buccaneers senior writer Scott Smith said the most likely candidate for breakout success with the team is third-year safety Mark Barron. “The seventh overall pick in the 2013 draft, Barron has started 30 games in his first two years and has been a solid contributor in the secondary. With Lovie Smith and Leslie Frazier installing a new defense and almost certainly looking for ways to take advantage of Barron’s skills, the former Alabama star could go from solid starter to star in a hurry. Don’t worry about Barron’s physical style around the line of scrimmage being lost in a Cover Two base defense – John Lynch fared just fine in a similar system, and he certainly spent plenty of time up in the box terrorizing ballcarriers.” Barron was third on the team in tackles last year with 88. http://fansided.com/2014/02/27/mark-barron-breakout-candidate-bucs/#!xYI6B
He will continue to improve, the further he gets away from Brian Price taking his lunch money.
William Gholston showed real promise the last half of the season.
Lot of Bucs fans going to be mad when Barron breaks out . They hate him for not being Kuechly , and will never forgive him.
I really hope so. I was not crazy when the previous regime selected him but only took comfort when Mike Mayock called this guy a perennial pro bowler. But as I have said before - I don't care who we have on the back 4 if our front 7 can't get to the QB and stop relying on blitzes and stunts all the time.My personal Buc candidate that I 'HOPE" will have a breakout season is QB Glennon, mainly b/c that is the most important position on the field.
My two would be Barron or Banks.

+1
How is this not a Mike Glennon thread? The whole internet feels cheated by this hook thread. Mark Barron, lol. Maybe the Buc most likely to break out of his pass coverage responsibilities.
Johnny Manziel.
Tim wright gonna break out be a top ten te. Gonna eat pinneapple in Hawaii next season.

THIS!!
Really hoping Lovie and Hardy can light a fire under Mason Foster. Would be nice to see him step his game up.

If the front four finally starts doing their thing and if David continues to do his thing....there won't be any tackles left for Foster.

That would be possible, if you could buy blocking skills at Walmart or where ever. Unfortunately, I think a good blocking TE is something you are, not something you can be taught. I like him though, and he has a place on the team going forward. But a good blocking TE is going to have to come from the draft or free agency, if they are so inclined.
I'm excited to see Gholston this coming season. Towards the end of the season, something clicked and now with a great dline coach... Sky is the limit.
