Going to now share with you Bucs fans the truth on some juicy details that helped lead us to where we are at currently. Lovie, and more importantly Tedford were 100 percent sold on taking Derek Carr with their second rounder. Tedford was the one who started the Derek Carr bandwag ok n within the front office. He wanted to take the job with TB because he believed highly in Derek's NFL future. Keep in mind Tedford has known Derek personally for most of his life. Lovie and Licht were on board, but they wanted to ensure the best value and felt Derek would be available when the Bucs would be on the clock in round two. The plan was to address the offensive line through free agency and draft a number one target who can grow with Carr and start the foundation in TB. Their guy was actually Sammy Watkins, but they refused to trade up and were also very confident in Evans. So fast forward to the end of round one and there is a heated debate in the TB war room. Tedford is freaking out because he feels the Bucs need to trade up and get their man, but Lovie and Licht refuse to part with any picks. So when Oakland took Derek one pick ahead of us you can imagine the meltdown that ensued, especially with Jeff Tedford. Jeff was pissed and he and the Bucs eventually agreed on a mutual parting of ways. This is why Lovie (after the fact) suddenly proclaimed that Glennon was the future at the position, despite trade rumors just hours beforehand. Lovie and Licht hang on to Glennon as insurance and are forced to roll with Josh McCown. Some may ask why Glennon isn't starting. Simple. Lovie and Licht do not believe in him. They want him to ride the bench into the off-season so he still carries a 3/4th round trade value. As of this post, the current plan is to find the right Offensive Coordinator (I've heard Chudzinski's name more frequently than others) and hand over the offense 100% to that person. We are definitely going QB right off the bat. I have no idea which direction they are leaning between Mariota and Winston, but I'm sure they are a ways away from making that decision. That's all I'm sharing for now. Have fun throwing stones and questioning the authenticity of this information ;)
