In one scenario, Lovie gets an innovative OC, such as a Trestman or Chudzinski, and we take a young QB. There are still some holes on the team, and it will be a couple of years before we truly compete. Similar to the Vikings, and the Jaguars. In the other scenario, Lovie hires a conservative OC with tons of experience, if not a highly trusted name, like a Mike Tice or a Greg Olsen. In this scenario, we would forego the QB, trading down and filling more holes on the team and making a push starting next season with Glennon at QB, like the Cardinals or the Chiefs.Scenario A)OC - ChudzinskiFree Agency - OG Mike Iupati, WR Wes WelkerDraft: 1- QB Jameis Winston 2 - OT Cam Erving 3 - ILB Paul Dawsn 4 - KR/WR Tyler LocketteIn scenario A, we get our big name QB. But we're forced to either start Dotson at LT, or start a rookie in Cam Erving protecting Winston's blind side. I'm a bit weary either way, but there's no better options at LT barring a big trade to get back into round one for a guy like Stanley, or Flowers should one of them somehow slide. We also settled for a boom or bust MLB in Paul Dawson. Holes remain at DE, NCB, and O Line depth. Ultimately, it feels like by taking a QB number one overall, the rest of the draft becomes too forced. Drafting for need as opposed to BPA, which goes against the philosophy L&L talked about last year in taking the BPA in every situation. We have a good OC though, and a QB that will have every opportunity to bloom. Winston will need a year to get acclimated. And for Chudz' offense to be digested and efficiently executed by the offense as a whole. In 2016 we would have to focus on replacing VJax, and Mankins, while trying to add some much needed pieces for the defense. In all, our defense probably takes a step back, while our offense begins to step forward. We finish 8-8 with promise building into 2016.Scenario B)OC - Mike TiceFree Agency - Mike Iupati, Jason Pierre-PaulDraft: Trade #1 overall pick to NYJ for #6 overall, 2nd & 3rd rounders, and 1st in 2016, 1st in 2017.1 - OT Ereck Flowers 2 - ILB Denzel Perryman 2 - G/C Cam Erving 3 - CB Senquez Golson 3 - WR Dorial Green-Beckham 4 - KR/WR Tyler Lockette In scenario B, we forego the QB to add more pieces on our roster. Our O Line goes from one of the worst in the league, to one of the best. Just imagine Ereck Flowers - Mike Iupati - Cam Erving - Logan Mankins - Demar Dotson ....... that is one beast of a line. Our running game will blow up, and Martin will reach 1,500 yards. Glennon will have all day to find Evans, Jackson, and the uber talented Dorial Green-Beckham. On defense, we get JPP to provide the pass rush, and Denzel Perryman to man the mike position, not to mention an absolute ballhawk of a nickel in Senquez Golson. If Glennon can't produce with that offense, then we can him and package a few of our 4 1st rounders between 16 and 17 and take a guy like Cody Kessler or Connor Cook next year.In all, we have a stacked offense and defense going into 2015. The only true question is whether Glennon can manage. And folks, we've seen Glennon manage pretty well with far less talent around him. With that O Line, and the added weapon of Green-Beckham along with a stout running game and Mike Evans in year 2? We would make the playoffs almost certainly. How far can we go once we're in? Idk. But if Lovie really does want to win now, scenario B could be in place already.
