The SEC has amended their lawsuit against LSU and are now looking for a path forward to boot LSU out.
Crazy times in college football
I hate it for the legit college kids, not these XFL players that can't make an NFL roster or practice squad. That is where the absurdity comes into play. What Kiffin is fighting the NCAA and SEC on is if they have eligibility left because the eligibility rule changed. So picture this: His argument would allow a 38 year old who still had an argument to play college football regardless of his standing as an NFL player or otherwise....and I have said it once and I will repeat it, it's the damned NCAA's fault because they didn't regulate NIL or transfer portal along with eligibility requirements. They created this mess and Lane is just the right douchebag to try and exploit it.Crazy times in college football
There’s no way the SEC is seriously thinking of excommunicating an historic SEC blue blood school. If I had to guess it’s a legal threat for LSU to put a muzzle on their new pit bull.
I think you are right, WT, and I think it worked. I saw a report late last night that said that LSU added 2 eligible players which rounds their roster out and puts a muzzle on Wright and Harris joining the team in any capacity. The other interesting thing is LSU's administration has been quiet about this whole thing. It's been Laney strumming up the controversy. Here's the other puzzling thing to me and makes no sense: LSU has a legitimate chance at a CFP Championship with the players they have, Kiffin - who although I believe is the scummiest of the scum of earth, is a pretty great offensive mind and runs that side of the ball in tandem with Weiss Jr, and that coaching staff that is legit in its own right - without Harris and Wright. Why continue this fight and take a chance that some judge sides somewhere with the NCAA and locks them out of that championship? It makes no sense and I think points to the maturity level (or lack thereof) of Lane Kiffin. There’s no way the SEC is seriously thinking of excommunicating an historic SEC blue blood school. Yeah, the SEC is telling the courts to eat a dick. And LSU gave it up last night and waved the white flag by adding two additional, non-NFL players.
Great work by Sankey and the league presidents.

Right. As is most often the case the two parties in the dispute, in this case LSU and the SEC, reached a resolution without court intervention. They settled it on their own (LSU relented) BEFORE a federal court was asked to rule on the SEC's authority to eject LSU.
Curious to see what the two players do now. and the vote Thursday
College football is a mess lol
