I hate that Jason Licht keep hanging all of these sucky players around Todd Bowles neck and dragging him down. Poor bastard.
Licht sucks man
we all like him because he’s a guy you’d enjoy having beers with watching the game and for his 2018 through 2021 span but basically pre and post Arians has been mid at best
Give us the best coach in the world and we likely a playoff pretender still
EDIT: this isn’t a defense of Bowles. My man can’t even understand basic math. Should have been let go in January. I’m just saying Licht is part of problem too unfortunately
Interesting times ahead
what do you"Bowles players" do elsewhere?
Will Licht survive?
Licht sucks man
I'm not a fan but I wouldn't say he sucks. He's just below average and was given an insane amount of time to get things "right".
He's found some great players... Many of which imo fell in his lap but he still took them.
His extensions tho... I'm hard pressed to find many good ones.
Overall his tenure was solid but his time is up. When you hitch your ride to Bowles and draft players for his scheme then you gotta go down with that ship.
If Bowles can somehow run off some wins, then that'll change things but I doubt it.

If that is true, that Licht was fully on-board with keeping and extending Bowles, agreed 100%.
But what if he recommended moving on from Bowles, but the owners went against those recommendations? That's the only way I think he should pick another head coach.

i think we all want that to be true since we are grateful for the Super Bowl and hold Licht in a bit of higher esteem...but i'd be surprised if the Glazers didn't hold his opinion in high regards...being with the team for much longer than Bowles and all. I'd have to think Licht was supporter of keeping Bowles and maybe even recommended it.
Hence..he's gotta go

sucks was a harsh word...but below average is the title he gets currently. Entering the season, I would say he's a top 15 GM...but i think i've been overrating him based off of his 2018 to 2021 phase. 2021 was 5 years ago.
He had some good drafts, call in 2018, 2019, and 2020. Outside of that, they were all pedestrian.
it seems all his good FA/trade additions came from the 2018-2020 time period as well - JPP, Shaq, Suh, Gronk, Lenny, AB, etc.
Loved when he ran it back in 2021.
Any goodwill he got for the Baker signing, currently out the window given the premature extension. I'm hopeful Baker is woken up from his slumber given Daniel's prime time win and can get it going now. Maybe that's the chip he needed. who knows.
Kudos for the Chase McLaughan signing. yes, a Kicker (outside of Baker) is his highlight addition in the Bowles era.

unfortunately, i think there's one guy the Glazers like more than Bowles...and that's Licht
Remember, he brought them a Super Bowl. AND this was theirs...not daddies SB
I dont mind keeping Licht...but not at the expense of a premier offensive mind who may want his own GM. And...i dont think the Glazers will jettison Licht in order to do so.

Not sure tbh... And if that is the case maybe it saves him
