Who’s madder right now, Reynolds of Ledyard?
Ledyard is always a great read. Worth checking it out.
1. He thought the Bucs were lucky overall. Maybe, but his rationale implies that the turnovers were lucky and/or Cowboy errors. Myabe but lets see what he says after the film. The special team fumble is a strip, one of the interceptions a deflection with defenders all around. But maybe he is correct.
2. He praised Bowles scheme - pointing out that the Bowles blitzes hit and cost the Cowboys about a 1/3 of a point with each hit. He noted that Bowles blitz were succesful even though Prescott was releasing the ball incredibly quickly. He said it could have been even better because the Bucs missed several sacks
3. He lauded the RUN GAME - he lights a great block by Barton and how it frees up Mauch to get to the next level. He highlight the effort by Tez
4. Daniels - played for an UFA, meaning only edge of being an NFL QB. Too slow to process.
5. He criticized the 4th down call (that many here support in this thread)
6. Notable players - Parrish, Trotter and Walker, including that he has to play more because Bucs
desperate for pressure. Highlights the twists to clear him.

That's cool but cowboys defense is atrocious and Otton has already shown us who he is.

Ledyard spent the entire weak trashing the defense. Saying their 4th ranking in yards and EPA was a “lie”. Then they put a really good offense in a blender and he calls it luck? Bucs media spends 99% of their limited brain cells trying to get Bowles fired. It’s exhausting.Â
By the end of the week the defense will be top 3 in EPA. This is a good defense, teetering on elite. Second best Bowles coaching job to the Super Bowl run. But he gets no credit, it’s a lie and luck.Â
While everyone spent the first 4 weeks complaining about Bowles, I looked at the team and understood they would be 3-1 or 4-0 with just average QB play. The hate Bowles got should have been directed at Baker. Trashed the organization at the podium in the summer because he didn’t get his way, then gets his money and proceeds lose games by himself. The hole Baker put this team in cannot be understated.Â
