This is where Jameis needs to take the next step. Yes, being able to consistently hit the deep ball would be nice, but, more than anything, JW becoming willing and able to accept the underneath, open throws to stay ahead of down and distance and/or move the chains is what will decide the fate of this offense (and the overall success of his career would be my guess).

How did we get back in the game and score all of those points in the 2nd half? You guessed it:

Staying ahead of down and distance and moving the chains with the underneath, open throw.

A couple things first:

1) The underneath throws to keep us ahead of down and distance have been available and open all year long.

2) Arizona did not go into a consistent zone coverage shell (prevent) defense after they were up big. They mixed coverages, blitzed, and played plenty of man (especially on 3rd down).

So then, without further ado, 10 important plays in our rally:

3rd and 6. 9 yard Hitch to Brate. 1st down.
3rd and 2. 9 yard Comeback to Godwin. 1st down.
1st and 10. 4 yard Stop to Martin that he caught and ran for 10. 1st down.
2nd and 6. 5 yard Shoot to Stocker. Puts us into 3rd and short.
2nd and 3. 3 yard Quickout to Hump, Catch and run for 5. 1st down.
1st and 10. 4 yard Stop to Simms. Catch and run for 9. Puts us well ahead of down and distance.
3rd and 7. 9 yard Hitch to Hump and turns it into 10. 1st down.
1st and 10. PA shallow Cross to Hump for 3. Positive yards sets up an easier 2nd down call.
2nd and 7. Rodgers Stop for 4 and fights for 6 and change. Puts us in 3rd and short.
1st and 10. Brate Delay Out, catches at 3 and runs for 6 total. Puts us ahead of down and distance.
