Stacked room, I can’t say I’m surprised.
Truthfully the team is going with larger WRs on the perimiter and the slot. A big thing with Coen's offense is WRs that can snatch the ball out of the air using wingspan. Not to say Coen hasn't used smaller slot WRs in his offense because he has.
But the only smallish WRs on the Bucs roster right now are undrafted free agents Knue, Jones, and Johnson.
The top five WRs on the roster are at least 6 feet tall with Jarrett and Palmer being the "smallest" of the top five.
Nothing to do with the WR room or his skill set. Something with his wife.
There seems to be a Tik Tok video but I don't have Tik Tok so here it is but I don't know what it says.Nothing to do with the WR room or his skill set. Something with his wife.

It says he beat his wife.
That would explain it. I don't know why they had to make it an injury designation. Perhaps they didn't want to deal with the NFLPA and all the due process a player would get? There seems to be a Tik Tok video but I don't have Tik Tok so here it is but I don't know what it says.Nothing to do with the WR room or his skill set. a step to putting him on IR possibly? I thought that is how it worked for non-vets? waiver first then IR. Could be wrong.
So, he could actually be injured and the IR route helps them hold on to him (if he clears) and further allow them time until more is known about the video.
wild guess
Undersized WR that’s adequate returning kicks, but nothing special. If he did indeed put his hands on his wife then f that guy…good riddance

That could be the reason for a cut so early. Also means they had him penciled in as a ST/5 receiver and now we need a replacement… if true, they had no choice, but now they have to rely on plan B…
Scott Reynolds did an excellent breakdown on this. Here is his breakdown on youtube. I believe the Buc's did the right move. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SB0O6yMqkCc
Of course what SR says makes sense, bit it's curious timing that it happens a few days after the girlfreind posted the video on TikTok. That info was available to SR and he chose not to confirm or refute this aspect of the story which was found with a simple google search.
1) Of the 90 guys on the team, most of them who participated in the OTAs, they only realized one of them isn't going to make the final 53? I'm pretty sure they could pick 30 guys who have no realistic chance to make the team straight out of camp.
2) He's able to participate in OTAs, but he suddenly gets released an unnamed injury which nobody saw happen? They say he could be put on IR, but don't hold your breath for that to happen.
3) They were able to void a $985K salary with no dead cap hit.
I'm going to say the Bucs were just washing their hands of an undesirable situation. Here is a guy making a million dollars who probably won't make the team anyway and now he has this abuse thing hanging over him. Yeah no thanks we'll pass.
It's barely a blip on the radar even during a slow football news period, and I'm certainly not complaining that they cut him. But I'm going to guess the Bucs were just washing their hands of a messy situation and that's why they cut him and SR doesn't want to rock the boat. I don't know, perhaps we'll find out more in the future, but we probably won't.

I was also surprised it wasn't mentioned.
Wow, just saw the tik tok vid and just shaking my head at it. SR did a nice piece on him but I have got to say "he had to go after that abuse". Men don't hit women...ever!
This is just now picking up a bit of steam on X. Hopefully they ask Bowles about this today.
