If I told any of you the following a month ago, would any of you have had a problem with the QB? Would any of you be calling for him to sit?
1) Over the first three games of the season, against the defending Super Bowl champs and two perennial playoff contenders, the Bucs would be 2-1… and have lost the third game by just one field goal.
2) The QB would break an NFL record for THREE STRAIGHT GAMES of 400 yards passing. No QB has ever done that before. Ever. In history. Ever.
3) The QB would be leading the league in passing yards per game, 410.
4) The QB would be leading the league in total passing yards, 1230.
5) The QB would be leading the league in first down percentage at 50.5%
6) The QB would be second in the league in passer rating, 124.8
7) The QB would have 11 TDs to 4 INT in those three games.
8) The Bucs would be leading the league in total yards per game, 473.3
9) The Bucs would be third in the league in total points per game, 34
10) The Bucs would be 4th in the league in third down conversion percentage, 47%
The Bucs haven’t made the playoffs in 11 years. We have a QB that is breaking 60 year old NFL passing records. We have demolished two out of three teams we’ve played and lost the third game by a FG.
And some of you want to bench the QB that has sparked this?
Logic escapes me.
