Top 5? Well.....yeah maybe. To me there are only three elite level TEs and what makes them "elite" is that they aren't just short and intermediate threats. You can see the YPC of Graham, Gronk and Davis are all way over the usual 10-11 yards that TEs topically average. If Ebron has the athleticism to get to that range then he might be that guy. I'm not sure he is that sort of player
Bucs shouldn't panic as they can find a TE at the top of the 2nd round that would be a nice pairing with Wright. If the Bucs want to bring in a blocking TE with decent hands there will options available at the top of the fourth round.
We will have to get a different TE than Wright because run blocking isn't his thing. The question is if you see that TE as a blocker and Wright is your catcher do you use a top pick to get that "other" guy?
A guy like Marcel Jensen from Fresno State would be ideal. It depends on who has him on the radar. He could go in the 3 rd but if he falls to the 4th we could have a chance at snapping him up. IMO he would be a steal in the 3-4th rounds because he has a very high ceiling as a pass catcher and blocker. I realise that we have no 3rd thanks to the Revis deal. From cbs draft scout:Replacing old school power football proponent Pat Hill with spread attack wiz Tim DeRuyter at head coach has helped Fresno State become one of the country's most explosive offenses, but you wouldn't blame Jensen if he missed his old coach, as his playing time has dropped with the Bulldogs increasingly featuring four- and five-receiver sets.Broad-shouldered and athletic, Jensen has the athleticism to really boost his stock if given a fair opportunity during all-star games. (11/14/13)ANALYSISSTRENGTHS: While he doesn't get as many snaps as most NFL prospects, Jensen's ability to control defenders at the line of scrimmage in the running game, as well as his size, athleticism and big mitts in the passing game are very intriguing. Jensen's size and leaping ability also make him a standout on special teams. He has four blocked kicks over his career.WEAKNESSES: Playing time dipped in 2013 with Fresno State featuring more spread offense formations.--Rob Rang http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/players/1673492/marcel-jensen
I really don't like picking at 7 this year.
Thats amazing to me. There are probably 9 really good impact players in this draft. ClowneyMatthewsMackBarrBridgewaterWatkinsRobinsonLeeand however you feel about ManzielWe're in a really good spot in this draft. I'd hate to be in the 15 spot
It is a tough spot at #7, if you are looking for a TE though. I would love a great TE, but wouldn't pick any of these guys that early. And 1 or 2 of them may be gone by the Bucs 2nd round pick.

if we want a QB we miss out on the game changers BW, and Manziel. If we want passrush we miss out on Clowney and Barr is a huge stop down. He is just a 3rd down pass rusher or a 3-4 outside LB. Watkins and Lee are WRs and it kinda sucks to waste a top 10 pick on a WR. So that leaves it with Oline as the main thing that would decently satisfy everyone. So I agree that pick #7 is a huge bummer compared to the top 3 which is what we thought we were going to be half way through the season. but hey, the best possible improvement has already been made and thats a coaching staff overhaul
Anyone got an opinion on Troy Niklas TE ND? I saw he declared and he looks like a monster.
Eric Ebron would be a great pickup if we trade down out of the 7th spot. I really don't see us trading down because I think we are going to have a shot at a very good player with the 7th pick.I think 3 QBs could go before we pick and at least 2 will for sure. There's a very good chance that Barr or Watkins will be there with the 7th pick and an outside shot (if someone falls in love with Watkins or Barr) that one of Matthews, Clowney, or Manziel could drop to us (especially if 3 QBs go in front of us). I think either way...if any of those players are there at 7...they fill a huge need and we won't trade down.In the 2nd round, Austin Sefarian-Jenkins would be a great pickup. I'd really be interested in him. TE is a big need and he seems like a complete player. Depending on who we add with that 1st pick...Austin Sefarian-Jenkins will only help this offense get better.

That's because she is a monster he is a Gronkowski clone. Most physically dominating tight end in the draft.
I was reading someone saying he could go top 15.
Would you trade our 2nd, 4th, and 5th picks to move up for Ebron? I wonder how far into the 1st round those picks could get us? I would be ok with taking pretty much the rest of the draft off if we ended up with Watkins and Ebron or something like that.

I would be happy as hell to draft him. That dude is tall, rocked up, good hands, runs well, and is a good blocker.

Of course nobody knows, but I have seen him mocked no.12 to the GMen. I don't think you can lose too many spots and still get him, especially if he runs a sub 4.5 40 at the combine. If he does that he is Vernon Davis like, which he already displays on film. Personally, I would pick him over Watkins at no.7 if push came to shove. Here is the mock: http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/mock-draft

It depends what we got in free agency and with our 1st pick. If we could sign a DE, cut Nicks and Joseph and sign guys to replace them and then draft Manziel...I'd have no problem trading those picks and moving back into the first round for a TE like Ebron. I don't think we will have the ammo to move up that far as I think he's going to be taken in the 10-20 range.Even with Penn back, could you imagine an offense with Ebron, Jackson, healthy Mike Williams and 2 big upgrades at OG and Manziel at QB...also add in a pass rusher at DE to add to our D. I think that could be enough to push us into the playoff picture.

If you were going to do that, I think the better option would be to just draft him at no.7. I would not give up that much for him and I think he is great!!If he runs a fast 40 time he is a top-10 prospect anyway IMO.
