We're just not very good without our offensive line intact. Baker is getting to much pressure and we will continue to lose. No way we are beating Buffalo and definitely ain't beating the Rams. At this point I'm not confident in beating anybody the rest of the way. It's going to come down to the last three weeks wether we win the division or miss the playoffs.
Another key injury today. It just get worse every game. We'll never be healthy this year.
Who got hurt today?
Interesting. I came away thinking that if we can do this with two rookies as WR1 & WR2, and Otton rolling like a tank, imagine what it would look like with Bucky and one of either CG or JMac!?We're just not very good without our offensive line intact. Depending on the personnel available from IR - I think Buffalo is beatable. Miami changed the dynamic a bit, but it’s possible.
Feeling much better that Goedeke could solidify the left side (and the run game) enough that Tucker became the first RB all year to gain more than 50 yards against the Pats - and bucks rushing attack racked up 113 yards.
No Baker scramble drills. They sealed up his escape lanes, but he also didn’t try & take off, neither did he have any designed runs. He moved in and out of the pocket, but wasn’t a mobile runner. Good defense, but still wondering if his wheels aren’t 100%?
Defensively, we were exposed a bit. Giving up 2 massive gash plays by Henderson, and a couple of bombs. We did get pressure, but true to his bio, it didn’t rattle him.
That game should have silenced the crowd that said Pats/Drake Maye haven’t played anyone.
Some good play calling in spurts. Better defense won out.
Wasn’t an unexpected outcome, for me. Without some additional offensive weapons, we’re not as good as teams like Detroit or NE. It’s why I think we’d struggle in this game, and the next two, but we should start getting some weapons back after that - and this offense could be scary.
It doesn't matter what weapons we have on offense if we can't protect Baker. Bredeson looks to be out a while if not the season. His hamstring was streched bad. Wouldn't be surprised if it's torn.Interesting. Hate that we lost Bredeson, I like him, but he’s a capable JAG. Evudence of that is, the run game was effective in picking up 1st downs, considering our RB’s.It doesn't matter what weapons we have on offense if we can't protect Baker. While White & Tucker picked up 1st downs and drove hard, and were nice in spurts, Bucky would have been incredible today behind this line.
Baker, obviously not cleared to run/scramble yet, but much more accurate - that laserbeam to Tez for the last TD was impressive. Mek dropped at least one that was well thrown… so looks like the oblique has healed, but maybe the knee/leg may not be where it needs to be?
The more weapons, the more, and faster, he can feed them.
I'll say this we will probably make the playoffs and if they have key guys healthy they can could make a run. That's enough for me. But I'll also check back in later on in the season see where we are at. There's room for improvement right.

It's also a long season and baker is not a big guy. It's not surprising to see a little bit of a withdraw of baker surprise running as a weapon. Maybe limit that because we need him healthy when it matters most. Team is likely going to the playoffs and already limping there. We need him absolutely if we have a shot. My hope is he's just being a little bit protective because long season means higher likely to be banged up especially if you put your body on the line often like he is willing to do.
Losing Bredeson hurts the pass protection as well as the running game. When he left the game the offense struggled quite a bit.Hate that we lost Bredeson, I like him, but he’s a capable JAG. Me either. posted as much. Its not like the bye brought everyone back.

This
we are pretenders. this game proved it
now, if we manage to steal one of the next 2 games versus Buffalo or Los Angeles, i will change my tune, but it's looking awfully similar to prior years with the in season losing streak and then winning off a weaker end of year schedule.
if i had to guess, we end up 11-6 after a 6-2 start, and 6-5 middling of the year. Probably drop a game we shouldn't within in the division because...you guessed it...we are pretenders
and you can say injuries for sure and Bucky Irving will help but if we are being honest neither Evans or Godwin looked like themselves in the limited time they played this year so banking on them coming back and being in 2024 form is not something we should have with high confidence.
as of today, we look like one of the weaker NFC "contenders".
Already lost to the Eagles and Lions. The Rams and Seahawks look like formidable opponents. Yes, we got lucky and beat the Seahawks but remember when we dominated Washington and they still beat us in playoffs, yeah...dejavu my friends...book it. We will lose a home game to one of the wild card teams like Seattle, Greenbay, etc.
the 49ers and Bears look beatable but that's all i would think we can beat in the playoffs at this time....and that assumes we dont go full retard like we've been prone to do in big time games.
lol you gotta love Scott Reynolds article of "Sky is not falling"
he just doesn't get it
yeah if the goal is to make the playoffs and get bounced again, sure, it's not falling, we should easily win the division. Heck, i'd even say we have a shot to boast a decent record of 11-6.
but with expectations that sky rocketed after a 5-1 start and in particular looking pretty solid against Seattle and San Fran; boy have we delivered a turd sandwich the last 3 games
We are staring down the barrel of a 1-4 stretch which sort of reminds you of the skids we had the last 2 years.
The expectations sky rocketed that we thought we had a chance of a #1 seed and actual Super Bowl contenders.
the Bucs can change my mind if they still 1 of the next 2 games but.....until that happens, hard to take this team seriously. They will be known as being in a weak ass division and pretenders.

Because of expectations ("we thought we had a chance of a #1 seed and actual Super Bowl contenders")
FWIW, SR goes on to predict they win 1 of the next 2. I do NOT see that, especially after the Bills getting thumped by Miami. DH made this point last night, I think.
But, the Pats loss is a bad loss no matter what. It was also a bit of a trap game. Coming off a bye, the game they were "supposed to win" of the three etc.
