"“[T]he last turnover, definitely on me,” Darnold said in his postgame press conference. “I was just trying to throw it away. I think it might have deflected off a helmet. Once I saw it was going to be hot to my left, I just tried to throw it away, and I think it deflected off somebody’s helmet. At the end of the day, I got to protect the football in that situation and can’t give them a short field to put the game away like that."
Biggest mistake in franchise history, would have been to draft the terrorist, Jihad Campbell, instead of Egbuka. The Bucs will live with 5 starters on the O being out, and putting up 38 points against a team that has allowed an average of 20 points per game this season, as opposed to finding the next Lavonte.
35 points allowed = "masterpiece"
That's some world-class leghumping.
One play and thats why its in quotes.
Biggs, you guys troll these boards like wannabe interweb bullies, but in the style of a 5th grade school girl.
Fifth grade school girl because the SECOND you get any push back, especially when it is a dose of your OWN medicine like the "RB1" or the "25% first down run", out come the hysterical would-be personal insults in post after post after post. Your versions of "oooh . . ick . . .you're ugly" or "who does your hair."
Try a football response without the "leghumper" surrender.
Oh wait . . you cant, which brings us back to Mean Girls :-)
On the football topic, the thread highlights the oddity of football fandom, a general reluctance to acknowledge the positive about someone who has been trolled as negative . .
No one player or coach is all good or bad. The defense struggled yesterday, but the TEAM also prevailed in a game that not only did most here think they would lose, but that had some BOASTING about their anti-Buc bets. There are plenty of NFL teams who do not want to face the HEALTHY version of these Bucs.
enjoy the ride

I dont know about Campbell, but I was definitely in the camp of all defense. I think Alldawy was one who stood out for suggesting they might go another direction. There were probably others
But to your (slightly hyperbolic lol) point there are plenty of fans NOW . . who were NOT fans at the moment of thatpick, which is unneeded proof that Licht and Co know what they are doing and have much more info (Godwin's injury) and can mostly keep it under wraps. All good things.
GO BUCS

Hey Mean Girl . . cant do much more than put it in bold and ALL CAPS. in the original post lmao
So, Bowles deserves blame for the defense's poor 3rd down performance, but also CREDIT for THE pivotal play
"THE"
Yaya Diaby inability to finish makes him a RD3 imo
Should've had that sack on 4th down. Redick is usually a good closer so I'll let him rock

and it stood out on that one play yesterday but that play was not a unique event. he's had many close misses.
I complained profusely this offseason about not addressing the MLB position. Last year I was sick and tired of seeing teams convert third and long right down the middle on us. Not surprised this is happening again. Fingers crossed neither gets injured cause just like last year there is zero depth behind them.
Yeah, the defensive savior hasn't been much of a savior. The MLB position has been poor for years now. They have had chances to upgrade the position and have not. That is on the GM, HC, & DC.
A possible addition to help the defensive savior:
Pratt stood out from the rest of the linebackers because of his effectiveness in coverage. In 105 coverage snaps, he allowed 74 yards and a passer rating of 70.7 on 13 targets as the nearest defender. White, meanwhile, has given up 11 catches for 107 yards and a passer rating of 82.2 on 17 targets in 149 coverage snaps.
Dennis has a horrendous overall PFF grade of 41.6 - 118/132 LB's
Pratt has a below average overall PFF grade of 56.7 - 88/132 LB's, but is a decent coverage LB.
I don't expect it to happen, but the team needs to do something.
SR alluded to the CB situation as impacting the pressure. Now Bowles has suggested the same
"“I thought we missed quite a few [sacks,]” Bowles said. “We didn’t pressure as much as we typically do yesterday; we played off with a few guys banged up, so we tried to help out the secondary some in certain areas. But we missed the sacks that we should have had. And we just got to do a better job of closing the middle and keeping them guys in the pocket.”
Not saying he is right or giving them an "excuse" lmao. Just observing.
(Mean Girls preemptive disclaimer lmao)

If you just watch Dennis he has horrible instincts and he's slow laterally. Which means he's easy to juke... He isn't particularly big or athletic so I'm failing to see him as anything beyond a special teams player

You are accurately describing what he looks like on the field now, but I wonder if the Bucs attribute that to processing because I think he was known for his athleticism as a prospect?
Either way though all that matters is what happens in games and so far he looks just like you describe. Not good
