Saints cut Tommy Stevens.

Just when it appeared the New Orleans Saints were done, they make a move to get back into the seventh round. The Saints jumped in front of the division rival Tampa Bay Buccaneers to select Mississippi State quarterback Tommy Stevens with 240th pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.
The Bucs may have had their eye on Stevens. They have been toying with the idea of having a player who can be an emergency/x-factor quarterback while serving at another position so they don't have to carry 3 QBs on game day. John Franklin was a candidate to play that role before he suffered an injury. Stevens was trying to make the Saints as a TE....
If Taysom Hill is expected to grow as a potential quarterback of the future, the Saints need a future X-factor weapon to replace Hill’s snaps elsewhere on the team. Enter Tommy Stevens.
Problem: Stevens hasn't been in the Bucs training camp. But could the Bucs try to nab Stevens now that he's available, or will he just move on to the Saints practice squad? The Bucs were aced out of Stevens by the Saints, will they try to turn the tables?
