1- STL - QB Jared Goff * After the move from STL to LA the Rams needed to make a big splash. They did that. Now the question is which QB will they take? There has been speculation that they purposely traded to #1 two weeks ahead of time so they could choose between Goff or Wentz. BS. They know exactly who they want. Most people assume it's Wentz and make the small school/Steve McNair comparison but let's look at the big picture. If you move to a new city, especially one like LA, and make a huge move to get #1 overall, you don't pass on the hometown kid to take a cold weather prospect out of North Dakota State. The fans will get behind the Cal hero and the Rams will have a legitimate option to start the season. Sorry Case Keenum.2- CLE - QB - Carson Wentz * Hugh Jackson gets the guy he wanted all along, right? Not so fast. Although he made a big deal out of hand size as a means of dismissing Goff as a prospect, don't be so sure it wasn't a smokescreen. I mean, a statement like that makes it clear they prefer Wentz, but with a team likely to leapfrog the way LA did, why would he tip his hand? I believe Jackson learned from Andy Dalton enough to know that even an over achieving, underdog QB can be good, but good won't win a title. Goff has more upside but Wentz is still a good fit for Cleveland. He gets to sit, presumably, for a little while as RGIII starts. Wentz is no 'consolation prize' for the Brown's though, much like last year with Winston/Mariota I think the two QBs are both capable starters in the NFL. Maybe not right away, but eventually with the right coaching, these kids can hold their own.3- SD - OT Laremy Tunsil * The best player in the draft goes #3 and San Diego, specifically Phillip Rivers couldn't be happier. With the two QBs coming off the board to start round one, San Diego would be 40 yard dashing to the podium to secure their franchise LT. It won't be long before Phillip Rivers is hanging up his cleats. SD must do everything they can to help him out now while they still have him. They drafted DJ Fluker early on a couple of years ago and have King Dunlap fighting off father time and multiple injuries. They need a blue chip LT to anchor that line, keep Rivers in one piece, and give Melvin Gordon a boost in the running game. Good pick for San Diego.4- DAL - S Jalen Ramsey * The star DB does his best impression of Primetime Deion Sanders going from a baller at FSU to the bright lights of Dallas, Texas. Not much analysis needed as to why they would take Ramsey. Maybe the question is why not Jack or Elliott? I just believe that Dallas views Ramsey as the better prospect. I agree and am sad to see him come off the board, dashing any hope of him donning a Bucs uniform this fall.5- JAX - LB Myles Jack * Jax would have loved to take Ramsey. They have to address their defense and while they could shock some people and take Hargreaves here, I believe they continue to bolster their front seven. Considering they still have hope for last year's Dante Fowler and just signed Maliek from Denver, Bosa gets overshadowed by the versatile LB in Myles Jack. I love his abilities in that Jags defense as his coverage and speed helps the middle of the pass defense. Great fit with Telvin Smith at weak side backer. Paul Pozlusny has been a good Barrett Ruud type for them, but they need to evolve at MLB and there's no better way to do that than with the Jack of all trades. 6-BAL - DE Joey Bosa * The pride of Ohio State, probably the most well-represented team this year, heads to Baltimore. With Suggs winding down and Chris Canty recently released the Ravens are lacking the very things Bosa brings to the table. They make use of his versatility having him hold up double teams with his hand in the dirt or lining up as an OLB. Buckner is a candidate as well, but I think they like Bosa for his versatility just a little bit more.7- SF - DT Deforest Buckner * Chip Kelly stays true to his Oregon roots by taking the freakish DLman at #7. It's good news for Buckner as he won't be asked to do many things differently than he's been used to in college. He pairs with his former teammate and last year's first round pick Arik Armstead to give SF a good young DL they can build around. San Fran really is the wildcard this year, especially with Kelly in charge. Could they go Paxton Lynch? There's no way they keep Kap, he'll be a Bronco in two weeks. And as far as Gabbert starting? That may be their best option with Goff and Wentz already gone. Here's a bold prediction for you. The 49ers will take another Duck in the third round... QB Vernon Adams.8- PHI - RB Ezekiel ElliottPhilly's biggest issue on offense last year was their loss of Shady McCoy. Murray didn't mesh with Kelly and that now leaves them with Ryan Matthews. In a weak draft class for RB, the Eagles must take pressure off of Bradford and get a potential game changer in Ezekiel Elliott. He comes with a phenomenal resume but also some character questions. At the end of the day his talent is too great for Doug Pederson to pass up. Elliott has been their guy since they made the trade with Miami.9- TB - CB Vernon Hargreaves III * Not all Bucs fans are on board with this for a number of reasons. Size is one I hear a lot. He'll be exposed against bigger receivers, right? Well I like to go against the grain here because I think VH3 will be the Aqib Talib to Winston's Josh Freeman. In other words we're getting what we thought we had early on with Talib from an on field perspective. Ball skills are top notch. Instincts are as good as they come. Kid has eaten, slept, and breathed football from a young age and will be another building block on this Bucs roster for years to come. Grimes' presence as a mentor can not be stressed enough as it pertains to Vernon's immediate success in the NFL. When you look at who's available here any other selection feels like a reach. Hargreaves is BPA. 10- NYG - OT Ronnie Stanley * Back to back OTs in the top 10? Ereck Flowers traveled north from Miami to the Big Apple and played okay. He struggled some in pass pro but looks like he can develop into a solid LT. Better yet, let him man the RT spot and lock down that side while Stanley comes in to play LT. Improves both tackle spots for big blue while they continue to get bigger in the trenches. Stanley will fit well in NY, now they just need a RB.
