Now that we're closing in on the end to this miserable season, we need to start thinking about what our top needs are. Here's my list, and I'd love to hear yours.1. QB2. LT3. TE4. LE5. WR (speed)Your turn.

If we lose out and I'd expect the Bucs to do so, then we are looking at a Top 5 selection (AGAIN). My order would be this 1. DE- If Clowney is there when the Bucs select, then that's a no brainer IMO.  2. OT- Landing Mathews or Lewan might not be the sexy pick in the Top 5 but the OL has underachieved this year and a stud OT might be what this team needs.  3. WR- Selecting Sammy Watkins or Mike Evans could be exactly what whoever the Bucs QB is next year needs. 4. OLB- On paper the Bucs look set at the LB position, but adding a Anthony Barr or a CJ Mosley would only strengthen a already strong position. 5. QB- We have zero shot at Bridgewater and I'm not a big fan of Johnny Football or Derek Carr. Wait until the 2nd round and hope Mettenberger or McCarron are still there. Or maybe even Boyd out of Clemson(especially if we get Watkins in the 1st) would be in play. Disclaimer- If Schiano is still the HC then there is zero possibility the Bucs draft a QB in the first 3 rounds.

No thanks on Boyd. if you want to see my reasoning go watch the tape of the last 2 years when they played FSU and South Carolina. dude wilts when faced with good defenses.

1 QB- To those who don't want the Bucs to draft one, Why not? If Glennon is as good as you say he is, he will win the battle.2 OL- OT, OG, C It doesn't matter, its all in shambles IMO3 DE - Need more from the line without blitzing4 CB- Beyond Revis and Banks(sometimes), I have no faith in them5 TE- One that can run block like Anthony Becht used too. Not strictly a pass catcher. Must open up holes for the RBs

Not exactly....clubs have wayyyy wayyyy too much pressure in inserting 1st round pick QB's regardless of whether they win "the battle" or not.  Are you telling me Freeman won "the battle" this offseason???  I bet he didn't yet he started the season and was only pulled after a historically horrendous start.Draft investment carries weight....even several years after the fact.  Seriously, why is Davin Joseph still playing?Anyhow, here's my list.1. Coaching staff.2. Oline.3. Oline.4. Oline.5. Oline/TE

Only weak organizations have that problem. Arron Rodgers was drafted in the first round, only played when they knew Favre was done and coached up enough to take over.Drew Brees and Phillip Rivers. Kurt Warner and Matt Leinart, that didn't even work out but they stuck with Warner overall. Those are just ones I remember off the top of my head. Draft a QB in the first round and let them compete. Worst case scenario is they both suck. I believe we will increase competition and find a real QB by drafting a QB in the first round this year.BTW not every situation should lead back to "remember the Freeman situation" because that excuse is terrible. Freeman started because what other options did our team have? Plus he was showing just enough to make the organization not draft a QB or bring in a Vet for competition. And that sounds just like this Glennon situation right now...

Keep in mind that in 2 of your 3 examples the team had an established, aging vet the rookie was intended to learn behind.

Anyone who doesn't have DE #1 is a damn retard. Sorry.

I wouldn't go that far.  An edge rusher would take our defense to the next level, but the offense being able to sustain longer drivers to let the defense rest would do the same thing and score more points.

I can take that. I forget that Favre had all of those retirements

Adding a DE who can force errors and give the offense the ball back also can help a tonlook at Carolina. they have a VERY pedestrian offense but they can close games out with their conservative running game and great defense. i almost want to go all defense like the Jets and Carolina did. all OL and DL this year and just maul people up front and take advantage of the fact that weve got a 100 million dollar secondary

1. Coach2a. DE2b. QBThe rest are just role players that are nice pieces to have. Its possible to ditch a high contract o lineman and pick up someone as good if not better. A couple more capable wrs would be nice for depth. Te is also a nice option but it also is hard to find those big mismatch type guys and most teams settler for well rounded tes. Most positions have guys with enough talent to win games consistently. I also think clayborn would be a much bigger factor under better coaching. They are using him like a 3-4 linebacker and its getting old. The talent is there and there's only a couple of bigger holes. The rest falls on coaching.

I wouldn't call Jimmy Graham or Tony Gonzalez role players. A stud TE in today's NFL can be a game changer.

Exactly. That's what people on the Tim Wright bandwagon seem to be missing. A TE that can stretch the field, create matchup problems every down, and can block like a beast would take the pressure off of the QB, WR's, and the O-Line. It would take the offense to the next level.

Yeah. Wright has been solid and I hope he sticks around as depth after Schiano leaves....but he's getting so much hype it's crazy. Alex Smith had a very similar rookie season and he ended up being nothing special and floated around the league for the past 9 years. I can't see passing on a top TE because of Wright. Having two great TEs would be a great problem to have, but having none sucks really bad. Let's not risk it.

Wouldn't disagree with that either - though I am less certain about the qb class than others seem to be

This class looked so deep and solid.  Things sure have changed.

Could be the qb value (and future success) will come from late 1st and early 2nd rounds

I understand 1-4 but #5...............wtf? we really don't need another linebacker unless its a passrusher. Mosley is good but I would be beyond pissed if we drafted him.

I understand where you are coming from, I just feel that a WR would be a bigger upgrade for this team.  I see it kind of likeTE-  decent upgraded to goodWR- craptastic upgraded to goodI'm not trying to devalue the TE position at all, I just think our recievers (outside of VJax and Williams) are really bad.  I would take one of these monsterous tackles over either anyways, so I guess its a moot point for me.
