Also, Manziel has been dealing with a bad thumb the last couple weeks. Can't really judge his last two performances.
That's like saying the Raiders 2007 draft is good if you switch out Jamarcus Russell. Lol.
Derek Carr is rising up draft boards. Some mocks have him as the #2 QB behind Bridgewater. He will likely be a top 10 pick. Can't wait to bump this come combine time.
Then there is the fact that Fierdo-whatever isn't going to be the highest rated TE on the board at the top of the 2nd.
There's no chance we land Ebron or Amaro without using a 1st rounder on them, and ASJ could easily be gone by the time we pick in the 2nd. After those three, Fiedorowicsz is easily the best option available. It's not even close.
Lastly DE , our biggest need , isn't addressed until round 3 with a meh player.
How much do you know about Kareem Martin, exacly? And only someone on Glennon and Wright's jewels would say that DE is our biggest need.
Not sold on Bortles, believe he's just a product of a potentially weak qb class.
I think Bortles is decent, but I think by the time the combine rolls around his performance and film are going to show some flaws in his arm talent. Carr is going to light up the combine. Bortles is probably not going to raise that many eyebrows.

well if i was running with that draft im fine with it if we swapped Carr for a DE. Fiedorowicz may very well be the highest ranked TE at that point if he blows the combine up. if Ebron, Amaro, an ASJ are gone then hes the next best TE available. after CJ theres a HUGE drop off in TE talent
No , there is a huge drop off BEFORE CJ and after those 1st 3 mentioned . CJ is a slightly improved Puke Stocker clone . He isn't stretching any defenses up the middle or causing many mismatches. He's a reach that high. Also , one of the top 3 should be there at the top of the 2nd .
This tells me all I need to know about what you know about Fiedorowicsz, which is not a damn thing.
Your mock sucks. Get over it , dimwit.Jdouble's mock shat all over yours and I don't even like jdouble's projections 90% of the time.

Carr is the next Jamarcus Russell, but you like Bortles in the top 10?The only reason I didn't mock Sefarian-Jenkins in round 2 is because I don't think he'll be there when we pick.He doesn't have a DE in his draft at all.You are an fascist, trolling idiot.
Our team seems to need much more than 5 things. Can schiano and dominik. Hire shanahan and kubiak. When the texans get a new coach reunite wade with those guys...or just bring in any DC that can take advantage of McCoy, David, and revis talents.Trade vjax and dougie for 2's. Trade Penn, nicks and Joseph for 3/4's. Shanahan/kubiak don't need overrated OL to make their system work.Pickup a top DE in FA and OL who fit the system. Pickup a coverage MLB. should have plenty of cap after the trades.Draft DE & TE early. Possibly use a mid-pick for jabaal sheard. Should have plenty of picks to mold in shanahans or the new GM's vision.Forget QB for 1 year. I am all about using resources to find "the guy", but I would still give glennon the chance to grow in year 2. 2 top picks at QB doesn't work out. Devote '15 draft to QB if glennon flops.
I think Fiedorowicz lacks the flashes of eliteness and upside of the top 3 guys, but he is a solid option in the 3rd or 4th. He looks a lot like Jason Witten on film....so you never know.
Game Time, good grief no. Are you not watching what Shanny is doing in Washington? And he's not hiring Kubiak (nor would I want him). He's bringing his son. And he is the GM - or at least the part we care about (player selection). And he's not good at it. He's not trading for picks, he's trading picks away. That's what he does. And Shanny hasn't hired a good DC in ages, btw. I don't think he knows what one looks like anymore.

I think you're right, he's a Jason Witten/Heath Miller clone. Obviously, if any of the top 3 are there when we pick in the 2nd, then we make the move, but given the importance of the position in today's NFL, and the number of teams without a stud TE, I think all three could go before we pick if we stay at #38. I disagree about the ranking though. I don't think he makes it any lower than early 3rd.

Doesn't have to be shanahan, but I do think he brings many positives. What's going on in Washington might have more to do with a prima Donna QB?I've heard nothing good about Kyle shanahan, that's for sure.
Being a HC means dealing with issues like that. He's also had problems (and traded picks for) McNabb as well.
Hiring someone like Mike Shanahan at this stage is a Dan Snyder move if Snyder hadn't already hired him once. The Bucs need to find the next Mike Shanahan, not the old washed up Mike Shanahan.

And an Elway too
just watched the breakdown on Bortles against South Carolina. I didn't bother watching any of the other game film right now because I wanted to see him against a legit defense and South Carolina was far and away the best team they played. he did some good and bad in that game.my thoughts- UCF utilized a lot of timing routes and quick passes plus screens. I know hes got a big arm and im assuming they went with this gameplan because of Clowney and the South Carolina DL- Bortles didn't pass downfield much and his big passing plays, and much of his yardage for that matter, came on YACs by his receivers- He made several questionable throws including a couple of terrible interceptions- Bortles used his athleticism to get out of trouble and to break the pocket and extend plays. his receivers didn't help him as much as they should of when he started scrambling- I liked that he knew when to throw the ball away when there was no play to be made. he didn't take any really bad sacks- Bortles has good arm strength when he can set his feet and step into the throw but his ball flutters quite a bit if he cant push off. obviously you want your QB to throw with good form but its nice if they can throw an accurate catchable ball from an awkward positionBased on that film Bortles reminds me of a stronger armed Christian Ponder. that isn't a knock on Bortles because Ponder was a good college quarterback. their game is very similar in that they can extend plays with their legs and are a threat to run the ball. Both excel at passing on the move and are best operating with play action and bootlegs. he sees the field well enough but tries to force the ball at times similar to Ponder. Just like Ponder, Bortles has shown the intelligence and skills necessary to be a potential first round pick. Ponder's Junior season (2009) was reminiscent of Bortles until he injured his shoulder. Neither quarterback had a supporting cast that could play up to the same level as them. I think Bortles can leave school now based on his better arm strength than Ponder but I think hed be best served to declare next year and get another year of experience. I really would like to see him compete at the Senior Bowl and see how he responds in a setting where he knows hes on the big stage and competing against experienced and talented players.
