We have history with the Jets as far as trading for star players. 
This suggests that the Jets are looking for a Franchise tag and trade. What that means is they don't want to sign him but they don't want to lose him and get nothing in return. Let's offer our 1st rounder for him and sign him to a long term deal. We have the money, he's young and can dominate for the next 4 - 5 years.Would you rather take a chance on a DE in the draft? Or trade that 1st rounder for a proven veteran? This didn't work out well for the Bucs the last time when they traded away their 1st/ 4th round picks for Revis, only for Lovie to cut him one whole year after and then proceed to use the money saved by cutting Revis to sign Anthony Collins, Michael Johnson, and Josh McCown.. This will be different, Wilkerson is a stud and he will dominate for us.
