Other options mentioned:EJ Speed is a colts LB with an expiring contract. The Colts are 3-3 by beating the Titans, but they face a tough schedule in the next five weeks (Dolphins, Texans, Vikings, Bills, Jets, Lions) where they could lose all six IMO. So at some point Speed could be available for a late round pick.
Commanders LB Jamin Davis
Dolphins LB Channing Tindall
Vikings LB Brian Asamoah
These are players who are out of favor with their current teams, but they are contending teams which makes it tougher to concieve that they would trade one to another contending team for a late draft pick.
As much as I would be all for getting a pass rusher via trade, its not happening. What we have is what we will go forward with.
Has Jason Licht ever traded for anybody during the season? I can't find any examples.

He traded away Banks in 2015? and traded for McClendon in 2020, but nothing like this. But how can we continue on a deep run when our two starting edge rushers are on pace for 2-3 sacks each.

After what Cousins did to the Bucs...Enough said.

i think the Bucs are still paying off the tab for the Brady years but we do have the right front office to maneuver. I just dont think they feel pressure too as they are playing with house money.
2020 dead money cap hit - $8M
2021 dead money cap hit - $11M (AB being $3M of this)
2022 dead money cap hit - $25M (Ali Marpet - $7M, Gronk $5M, Suh - $7M)
Prior to that, 2017 through 2019 averaged about $10M in dead cap hit so 2020 and 2021 appear to be in line. 2022 was one last ditch effort in Brady's final year
2023 dead money cap hit - $82M. (Brady - $35M, Don Smith $8M, Fournette- $5M, Hicks - $5M)
wow the fact that we made the playoffs in this reset year was truly something special
2024 dead money cap hit - $57M (Carton Davis - $14M, Mike Evans - $12M, Shaq Barrett - $9M Gage - $7M, Jensen $5M)
as you can see still quite high. I think they will be pretty happy with another division title. We were supposed to suck after Brady selling our souls for a Super Bowl.
2025 dead money cap hit - $29M (Shaq - $17M, Jensen - $12M).
Looks like maybe we can start to add pieces to our team this off-season?
I said all offseason that the lack of a real edge pass rusher will again be our doom come playoffs. I love Crosby and he would be a great teammate. I’ll pass on Parsons from what I’ve heard from some insiders. We could probably get Crosby for a 1st and a 2nd or 3rd. And I’m not sure what it would do to our salary cap, but I like the idea.
Crosby would be great addition. He would put our defense into SB level type
McClendon was traded for on October 20th. The Bucs gave up a 6th rounder and received a 7th round pick along with McClendon who was on a low budget expiring contract. McClendon actually was a good depth player and the Bucs resigned him for another year after that. I could see the Bucs making a similar deal of a minor player for a low draft pick. Although they already traded their 6th round pick in the Carlton Davis deal.Has Jason Licht ever traded for anybody during the season? I can't find any examples.

wonder what old man Hassaan Reddick wants?
i mean, trade wise, we can probably get him for a late round pick...but if he wants a long term contract, seems like a problem child
Reddick seems like an option, but he has the same issue Baker had - he had two really good seasons with the Eagles (and before that 1 good season each with Arizona & Carolina), but he’s now about to bail on his second team, and will be on his 5th team in 8 seasons.
It doesn’t look like he’s been humbled anywhere - and he additionally signed with Drew Rosenhouse, an agent that hasn’t had the best track record with the Buccaneers (although I’m not sure Licht has had a lot of interaction with him)… and he IS looking for a longterm deal.
We need the Eagles version of Reddick, he looks like a gamble, but he may be exactly what we need if we have the defensive talent around him he may be a good fit, but it sure looks like a gamble.
I’m not as strident against him as I was before the season - but I was encouraged (then) that Yaya Diaby was going to take a leap forward. I’m not seeing it. I’m softening a bit - still not convinced. I still don’t think he’s the type that Licht is looking to add (especially for the cash he will demand) but we have flashed some championship caliber play on both sides of the ball, and he may just be the one missing piece that this defense needs to compete at a championship level.
problem is he is 30 years old and wants a long term deal
nothing else really
in terms of inter-season trade...wonder if hes in game shape...would be my only concern but for a 5th round pick and assuming hes willing to play on his 1 year contract
the fact that he wasnt willing to do so with Eagles or Jets...not sure he would with Bucs
I mean, it’s a nice “what if” discussion… but I really don’t think this is the type of trade Licht - and more emphatically the Glazer’s - would seriously consider.
although… Reddick has a few more million reasons to consider a 1 year deal on a championship caliber defense, that would rehabilitate him in the eyes of the NFL…
Nah, he wouldn’t…would he? Could we?
