Bowles says the mental part of the game is slowing down for Zyon McCollum and he’s feeling more comfortable out there.

I'm saying the OC says what personnel he wants in the game.
So, again, the OC was literally the #1 reason…just like I said.
Thanks for clearing that up.
I'm saying the OC says what personnel he wants in the game.
And you don't think the personnel he sends into the game is based on the play he is going to call? Sweet geebus, man.
What I'm starting to believe is this is the offense Bowles wants. Run first, TE heavy. It explains why it doesn't match what we've seen from Leftwich in the past and why Monken fell through.
Two things:
1. Leftwhich in the past, without Bruce Arians, sucked. Turns out, he still sucks without Bruce Arians.
2. Baltimore is going to be very run first and TE heavy as well with Lamar Jackson at the helm. Hell, Mark Andrews is their best skill player. I don't think those things would have turned Monken off. I'm guessing he preferred to work with Lamar Jackson instead of Mayfield/Trask.
To the One Who Seeks Asses, thanks for the updates. It is appreciated.
Per JBF
* Trask had another solid day. Joe cannot believe it’s the same quarterback from just a few weeks ago. Trask used to lollipop many of his passes. No more. He’s rifling the ball. It’s pretty clear someone worked with his mechanics if not his head. More importantly, someone or some people didn’t work with his mechanics previously. If this keeps up next week, a serious quarterback competition could emerge — like the Bucs talked so much about this offseason.
* Trask threads the needle between defenders, throwing to the right side as Ko Kieft cut in from the right sideline.
* Trask is flushed right and connects on the move with undrafted rookie Rakim Jarrett along the right sideline. As Jarrett was chased out of bounds by Keenan Isaac, Jarrett trucked a Bucs team photographer, knocking her flying. Isaac helped her up. She seemed OK and got right back on the sidelines as if she was never run over
* White up the middle for a decent gain.
* Trask fakes a run to the left, rolls right and connects with Tanner Taula for a nice gain on the right side.
* Otton hauls in a pass from Trask along the left sideline
* Miller scores on Trask rolls right and hits Geiger for a touchdown.
* Who says Trask has no wheels? Flushed from the pocket, Trask just tucked the ball and ran straight up the middle for a touchdown
* Trask throws to Palmer and the ball is off his hands. So far it appears Palmer is botching more plays than he is making. To be fair, Trask put some mustard on the ball and you could hear the “POP” as the ball hit Palmer’s hands.
* Trask rares back and ropes a pass to Evans along the left sideline between what appared to be three defenders, Dee Delaney, Nolan Turner and McCollum.
* Trask is using a fastball that reminds Joe of Jameis. Say what you will about Jameis, but at times, that former ACC closer demonstrated he still had a nasty fastball.
* Edmonds catches a pass from Trask along the left sideline.
* Trask is flushed right and hits Taula on the move as he ran a crossing pattern. Nice gain.
* Trask fakes a handoff and throws to Moore along the left sideline.
Two minute offense
* Trask got the Bucs in the red zone with passes to Palmer for about 15 yards and Payne Durham sandwiched around an incompletion intended for Geiger. On the completion to Durham, the big tight end from Purdue sure looked as if he got away with a pushoff.
Music to my ears , a pass offense that doesn’t consist of drop back throw ball right to a receiver or in the dirt
Trask or Mayfield will be the QB for the next couple years , hopefully longer . That being said I think they still draft a QB next year , unless one of the 2 above absolutely kill it
Wow, Bucs sound like they're Super Bowl contenders, just like the Jets!
Music to my ears! A pass offense that doesn't consist of the same 6 plays in consecutive order.

Because he bogs down the conversation with drivel.
Bowles is an old school defensive coach and I believe the personnel and formations we used are because he wants to be a smash mouth team. That's why it didn't match what we've seen from Leftwich 2019-2021. Now it makes sense why Monken declined after going back and forth and now Baker is talking about 2 TE formations.
And of course Monken is going to use Andrews but he's going to air it out and either Flowers or OBJ will lead them in yards. That offense is going to electric and we're going to be running KeShawn Vaughn behind Ko Kieft.

idiot(s)
The offense didn’t suck because Bowles changed it
Monken offense very similar to Arians.
if Monken “airs it out” it will be because the Ravens have what the Bucs last year did not … an underneath game.
the Bucs dumped it to Kieft and other TE and RB … because defense played us in deep shell, rush 4 AND STILL CREATED PRESSURE
hilarious irony is that Monken is turning keys over to Jackson to change plays. Brady obviously could and did but Bucs had no underneath weapons
On top of all of that …
Monken chooses Ravens over Bucs precisely because they are close and he will claim to be difference. That and very stable HC etc
by comparison, Bucs can ONLY get someone like Canales because they are heading other way. This job is a flyer for Canales because it’s a promotion and chance to get something out of dog shit even if team sucks
For all the claims of watching tape etc it’s hilarious watching so many self aggrandizing football people keep describing the Bucs in terms that match their prior failed arguments.
Monken was never coming here. The Bucs might surprise this year (hi hopes for Canales) but they are a team on way down IN TERMS IF THEIR NEED TO CLEAR MONEY, COACHING UNCERTAINTY and player uncertainty. This is not a Super Bowl team shackled by coaching lol. It’s the remnants of a team that never sniffs the SB without Brady and that has since declined (Gronk, Marpet etc).
