lol now Trask is Jake Delhomme
have we made him Brady yet. I can’t keep track
”if not for the Bledsoe injury ….”
relax your boy trask, where you admire incomplete passes, will get 4 starts this year after lost locker room Bucs get spanked against Atlanta
No, I was just using that as an example.
The Bledsoe injury is partially fiction by the way. After he got cracked by Mo Lewis he went back in the game. People think he was knocked out of the game. It's not true. He came back and threw a terrible red zone INT, prompting them to bench him for Brady. Then Brady went crazy and almost pulled out the win. He did miss a bunch of games after, so he was injured, but the injury itself was not was put Brady in the game. The whole game is on YouTube. You can watch it yourself.

Edit. The Bledsoe INT was right before the Mo Lewis hit.
-Bledsoe goal line INT
-Mo Lewis hit
-Bledsoe goes back in the game, fumbles.
- Next drive, Pats down 7 with 2 minutes to go, Brady comes in. Side line reporter says it's a "coaches decision" and there are no medical personnel near Bledsoe.
-Brady nearly ties the game.
So did Bledsoe go back in the game or not? I certainly don't remember him going back in the game, but that was a long time ago.

Just checked. Bledsoe did come in the next drive, handing it off twice and then pitching it to Marc Edwards - who fumbled. Bledsoe was inactive for the next seven games, so he was definitely injured and shouldn't have returned to the game. But he was a tough SOB.

I just rewatched it. I was mistaken, Bledsoe did come back in the game but it was not his fumble. But the point still remains, Bledose had no medical staff near him and when CBS comes back from commercial Dan Deirdorf says "We're being told that Drew Bledsoe, now imagine this, we're being told his replacement is not because of injury." He had 159 yards, 2 INTs and Pats had 3 points.

It doesn't really matter what Deirdorf said. Bledsoe was inactive for the next seven games. He was injured.
Are you trying to say he wasn't actually injured? What is your point, exactly?
How many losses do you pin on Mayfield?
I'd say a lot more than what you think. Check out page 12 of the Panthers at Bucs thread to see how Mayfield has possibly lost games for us.
Definitely more than Mr. AB 2.0 will care to acknowledge.
but how many do those losses turn to wins with a worse QB? (Or maybe he’s Mahomes.)
all offseason, was Trask head and shoulders above mayfield or will you say it was a toss up?

Two things can be true.
1. He was injured but not bad enough to have to leave the game.
2. He was playing poorly and the Pats had the balls to bench him. If you watch the game, it's literally on YouTube, the crowd roars when Brady comes in. I had read years ago that there was talk about Brady outperforming Bledsoe in practice.
My point, they were leaning toward going with Brady over Bledsoe before the injury, they gave Brady the final drive and didn't look back. It's relevant because the Bucs should have been leaning toward Trask over Mayfield and could have used the ankle injury as a real reason. Mayfield came back in and immediately threw a pick, they should have yanked him then. Instead we've gone 0-2 since.

You are correct, two things can be true. #1 above, however, isn't one of those things. He was definitely injured bad enough to leave the game. More on that later.
It's also worth mentioning that Brady didn't play that well he came in that game, going 5/10 for 46 yards for a whopping 4.6 YPA.
My point, they were leaning toward going with Brady over Bledsoe before the injury,
If this was the case, they would jumped all over putting Bledsoe on the bench after the big hit (which most people - including me - thought they did) and send Brady out there to hand the ball off twice and pitch it on 3rd down.
I think you're forgetting option 3, an option that happened all of the time back in the day - Bledsoe said he was fine and went back in the game. After more time passed, somebody realized something was seriously wrong - and it was:
Bledsoe took a nasty hit from New York Jets’ Mo Lewis and had to leave the game with what they thought was just a concussion.
It was later discovered that he had a collapsed lung and massive internal bleeding. He nearly died from the incident.
“After the game, I tried to go home. Thankfully, the doctors didn’t let me do that,” Bledsoe later said.
“If they let me go home, I would’ve died. I was bleeding out about a litre an hour internally. By the time they got me to the hospital, I was out, and they took a lot of blood out of my body.
“Thankfully they were able to recycle my blood and put it back in, so they didn’t have to open my chest up, but it was pretty touch-and-go for a while.”

How many losses are you referring to?
And, which ones?

If they knew something was seriously wrong in the 4th qtr he wouldn't have been standing all by himself on the sideline. Multiple things are true in this situation. He was rocked but stayed in the game, benched because he was playing terrible and they wanted to see Brady, and they found out later the injury was serious.

I'm not saying they knew something was seriously wrong in the 4th quarter. But they eventually realized he was injured badly enough to not return to the game. The decision to send him to the hospital came later, obviously.

True.
benched because he was playing terrible and they wanted to see Brady
Speculation. Probably poor speculation, because he was playing terrible before he was rocked - and they still sent him out for another drive. Again, if your speculation was true, they would have sent Brady out at the first opportunity they had. But they didn't.
You're reaching here, and it's getting pathetic.
they found out later the injury was serious.
True. But you understand guys are pulled from the game all of the time without that injury being serious/life-threatening.
Bledsoe was clearly injured. He tried to tough it out until he couldn't anymore, at which point Brady was sent in. The doctors finally insisted he go the hospital, and he begrudgingly went to the hospital even though he wanted to go home. He, nor anybody else, knew how serious the injury was. But he and they knew he was injured. This really isn't that controversial.
